Local lockdown

If she leaves the north east she can do as she pleases as long as under 6 people? Nothing makes sense

How can nothing make sense when it hasn’t even been announced yet? I’m all for giving the government stick when it’s due but they haven’t even told you what it is yet and you’re starting. In other local lockdowns you aren’t allowed in or out of the area, so your point doesn’t stand if it’s a similar trend here

Death rate average same as it was this time last month on what I’ve just checked like. More people getting tested so there’s going to be more cases. If people don’t need to go to hospital why do they so urgently need a test? Rest, recover and back to work for 99.9% of people.

What has the death rate average got to do with the number of cases? There are more positive tests as a % of tests carried out, there is not substantially more tests carried out. Therefore the conclusion is the spread is wider than before

Other lockdowns have said you cant leave the area
Have they? This is on gov site.

If you live inside an area with local restrictions, you can go on holiday outside that area but you should only socialise indoors with members of your own household or support bubble

You can only stay in a private home - which includes self-catered accommodation such as holiday cottages, apartments or boats - with members of your own household or support bubble

You can stay in a hotel or similar accommodation (for example, a hostel or bed and breakfast) with another household but should avoid sharing rooms with people you do not live with or otherwise socialising indoors, for example in each other's rooms, in reception areas, or in restaurants and bars

We advise against sharing a caravan with another household. You should not share private vehicles to travel to your holiday destination

I'm going off gov site about local lockdowns.

What has the death rate got to do with it? Everything.
This highly vulnerable continue to shield, the rest get on with it. The virus is not going to go away. Until hospital beds and admissions are 50/60% capacity then no need for lockdown.

Right but from where we are this week, you cannot develop that overnight, so it isn't an option today. You can add it to the Governments failings list on the other thread and we'll agree its a joke, but doesn't help with the latest crisis.
They’ve had f***ing months and months to develop one, other countries have done it

Only in some

Fair enough if so, I only checked 3 and they seemed the same, so assumed the others would be

So add it onto the thread about a whinging list. But we don’t have one today so the choices made today cannot be based on not having one. They can only work with what they have and providing new lab capacity will take weeks if not months

Thats not how life works. You can’t just hide people away forever. Instead in the real world we try to relax restrictions to the point that allows everyone some freedoms instead of sacrificing the elderly to safe our nights out.

The death rate does not impact whether the virus is spreading or not

Relax restrictions until it comes back and everybody is locked up again?
The death rate is everything the virus is about, that’s what is causing the lockdown(S), you could be tracking any other virus if you are just looking at infection rate.

Been thinking about this boro match where 1000 people can attend .
I fully realise many will argue that with such low numbers its likely more safe than anything else, and that's probably right.
But ya person in the steet sometimes doesn't think rationally or understand.
Surely, when you're imposing tighter restrictions on 2m people in a region, from a winning hearts & minds perspective, it would be an absolute fuckin PR disaster to allow a league football match in that region to admit supporters

Just realised that the mrs & her mate were going to the caravan in Northumberland this weekend, so my weekend of freedom (when the bairns gone to bed) and then next week (me birthday) we were meant to be going up for 3 nights get away.....and neither is gonna happen!:cry::lol::lol:
Ffs fuck you covid, twat. Can't catch a break
I go to crimdon Dean Monday from what I read you can still go aslong as everyone going is within the same household /bubble
