Live streaming platform unveiled for global EFL fans...

Why is that not also true for the other teams in the EFL who have signed up?

The majority of teams that have signed up in the championship have probably been there a while and know the type of income that they'll get so are more comfortable to signing up, us on the other hand it'll be a bit of dark patch with Ellis Short so he'll probably just not want to take any risks especially when he's trying to sell up.

Looks like more of the same short term thinking from SAFC. They're essentially frustrating a large number of overseas fans who'd willing hand over money to watch the games at a time when the club should be making every effort to stop the mass exodus of supporters.

The illegal stream horse has already bolted, particularly now that ifollow has the majority of clubs on board.

In an ideal world, I dare say the club would love to launch a subscription channel for our exiles. Unfortunately though, they are shit scared that any streams find their way onto illegal platforms and people who live in the NE area, decide not to go to the match and thus hit the clubs income.

I agree the illegal stream horse has bolted and a more commonsense approach needs to be taken, but that now can't happen until the next TV contract. Until then the club just have to be wary.

Ok, thanks. Don't have Viaplay, but should obviously consider

The Derby Co. match is shown on TV3 Sport 1 next Friday. But because of the Danish league match being played just before ours our match will be shown from 21.45 (Danish time) with an hour's delay.

It's on Sky Sports anyway mate so should be loads of streams

Viaplay has it on as well so will probably watch the match on there. Then set the thingy to record the match when it comes on the telly an hour later. I always record televised ones with the Lads and have 300+ matches recorded already. Last year was a bit slow with only about twelve or so of our matches being shown on Danish telly but am hopeful we will be on a bit more this year. Four matches are already listed in the first few weeks so looking good.

4 Sunderland games? Presume Derby, Bury, Leeds and another?

you're missing my point. illegal streams are already going to be available because of the ifollow platform for the majority of games. It looks like the other hold outs are similarly larger clubs....so those games will likely be on sky....again, illegal streams will already exist.

The club ate turning down revenue to avoid a problem which is unavoidable. Another false economy, Short is fond of those.

The way the club is run is an absolute joke in almost every area.

Illegal streams might be available, nobody knows if it's gonna be possible yet, ifollow may have decent security to stop it.

Unlikely - if the matches are being broadcast, they can be illegally streamed. Frankly I'm unconcerned with being able to watch the matches , they'd just be on on shit streams. I'd pay the money just to get better quality with less chance of computer viruses.

The club most know what they're going to do by now, the fact they aren't communicating it is... typical I suppose. And reeeeally annoying.

If that's the case, and they can prove it, then the upshot is still that the club should be offering this service and they aren't.

They're so short sighted it's really no surprise at all we are in such a mess. Can't believe the owner had had any success in business as every move he makes here is the wrong one.

Scottish teams have an improved security for online streams now which iFollow might implement. A lot of the iptv's can't get the likes of CelticTV etc anymore because of it. It has the username of the persons account and it floats about the screen and changes to random positions to which the user then can't block out and they shut down the account for streaming

.

Exactly what age are you living in, fella?

The days of shit streams are long gone, as are the days of getting computer viruses from watching a stream. In this millennium, we don't really watch streams, (which are as near to HD as matters) on our computers any more and there's absolutely no chance of a virus.

I'll be hunting for a stream every game. I'd pay the ifollow fee just to not have the ball ache of doing that.

Wonder how many fans we have overseas who would sign up / what kind of revenue it would bring. Surely it would pay for a new website a few times over!

Somehow still on the Wolves e-mail list from attending a match there a decade ago, just got a thing about WolvesTV. 45 quid for the year domestically for audio commentary and full video once the embargo is lifted. An additional 5 quid per match for overseas live viewing of matches that are available.

Sounds a bit of a clusterfuck, but that they've just got it sorted might mean we're in for something similar.
