You say that, and that's what I thought at the time. It was beyond our wildest expectations.

But then the season starts again and you're straight back into it.

The most frustrating thing is the outsiders thinking we should just happily accept relegation and not complain because we've had some success.

The fact that we've had this success makes the failure even harder to swallow. We were in our best ever position with a fantastic base to push on and establish ourselves and we've pissed it away back to square one. No one expected more trophies but there is no way we should have been fighting relegation.

Rodgers on paper will be looked on as one of our best ever managers, and you can't argue with the positions in the first 2 seasons and the cup win. But what you don't see on paper is the way he has ripped the club apart from the inside and that base that we had has crumbled away. He's very much as damaging as Peter Taylor was in that respect.

I don't know a single fan personally who is optimistic about this season, I think top six would be a success. It took us a decade to get back to the Premier League last time we were relegated from it. It can be a long, hard road back as you're all well aware.

Just want to point out that I'm not looking for sympathy, we've had success most could only dream of But once you're back in the ground and watching mercenaries drag you down it's difficult.

Don't think you're aware of how massive parachute payments are these days in comparison to the finances of clubs without them. The disparity post-covid is ridiculous (I wasn't even aware until last season). You'll be top 6 no bother.

You say that, but Watford and Norwich finished nowhere near last year.
 
I don't mind Leicester but we are a bigger club than them.

In terms of the championship Leeds are the biggest club (I hate to say it) and we are second behind Leeds.

Not getting into a who’s bigger discussion, but not having that on attendance

Leeds averaged 27000 last time they were in Championship. We averaged about 10000 more

That’s my tuppence. Find the who’s the biggest club rubbish just that. Rubbish

Anyway Leicester should be a big threat next season. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the relegated 3 right up there this year. We just have to take care of ourselves and hope we can build on last season

An excellent post.
Leicester winning the Premier league was the stuff of fairytales. Everyone including the "experts" predicting that they would fall away.
The fans of any club would take that in a heartbeat.
Imagine us doing that and then getting relegated a few years later?
This board would be in meltdown and rightly so.

Leeds have an enormous catchment area, much bigger than almost every UK club.

They're a gigantic club.
