Leeds agree £10m for Longstaff

Longstaff is rubbish mind.
May have experience but he isn't very good.
I must be an even worse judge of a player than I thought then.
He is far from rubbish. £10m is nowt these days. For a steady player, with premier league experience, I think they have a bargain.
I could be wrong. Let’s see how he gets on.

Sorry, but 😂😂😂
Are you laughing because Reinaldo is much better than Longstaff or vice-versa?
They are both experienced players at a high level, were second choice for their clubs and are now deemed surplus to requirements. Athletico are obviously at a higher level than Newcastle, but Reinaldo is a few years older.

I would, which clubs out of the 20 most seasons have the least premier league experience in their squads?
Brentford didn't have any and didn't sign any when they went up. I would imagine it was similar for Bournemouth and Southampton when they first went up, as well as Brighton. Going back a few years but the teams in the prem are well established now so you will have to go back a bit to see how they did it.

He's a solid signing for Leeds, particularly at £10 million.
I'd be gutted if we signed him and not just because of the mags connections.

We've been linked with Henderson for free. A player with vast knowledge, leadership and 80 odd England caps. Longstaff would be literally falling off a cliff by way of comparison.

I'm laughing because it sounded like someone suggested Longstaff might be as good as Reinaldo. 😂😂

What is that based on apart from Sunderland bias though?

Longstaff is 27 and has played a couple of hundred times for a top half top flight side and in the champions league. He has been up against the very best. He has very similar statistical returns at that level (I know the SMB loves stats) to Neil in the second and third tier from similar positions.

Longstaff isn’t a world beater by any stretch of the imagination but the lack of objectivity on this thread is mad like
It’s unbelievable at times isn’t it 😂😂😂😂

I was thinking more in terms of experience in top leagues- which is important in itself, and the fact they are more defensively minded players. If you forget the mag connection- Longstaff is a pretty good deal.

Played cricket against him - he plays for Tynemouth CC, and is very well liked over there. There was a rumour that he had given them some money a while ago to help them with the bills. Seems a canny enough lad.

One of me dads mates, who is a mag, will be delighted he's gone. He never stops complaining about him.

Decent enough singing for Leeds, £10m for an established PL footballer doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

I'd want us to avoid him like the plague, he's the sort of limited trier we've spent millions on during our Prem history but that price seems about right for PL experience in the current market.

My Leeds supporting mate (currently in the RVI) is absolutely appalled at this signing. I am shortly heading in for visiting hour and he's asked me to bring in his Leeds top to 'cheer me up'.
I'm just as appalled at his request

Utter bullshit.

Last season minutes wise he played the equivalent of 9 games out 38 in the Premier League.

Your expansive football knowledge putting us mere mortals to shame again 😂

I agree apart from the regular bit. He played a lot when Tonali was banned. He played when the mags had injuries. He's never been a first choice.

We've bought young, current internationals with potentially very high ceilings, time will tell of course. Leeds have bought a plodder. Plodders won't keep you up. If they buy several better he might fill in and they might have a chance.

I'd rather aim higher.
Point is we don’t know they are higher yet… so dismissing someone who’s played 93 times in the premier over the past three seasons is a bit stupid.
It’s unbelievable at times isn’t it 😂😂😂😂
Aye this. And we say they’re deluded up the road
