No thanks.Just settling an argument, would anyone take lee johnson as manager?
In the relegation zone in the Championship.Where were before Johnson took over ? As I remember it, not really a serious a contender for promotion to the Premier league. Struggling in league one ? So he was a victim of his own success really. Bought well and sold on for profits. It doesn't always work out that you will get play offs or promotion when others around you are throwing cash at it too. The relegated clubs are nearly always in with a better chance of occupying 3 of the top 6 spots. Derby look like the biggest failure in the Championship.
In the relegation zone in the Championship.
However, we broke the League One points record with Steve Cotterill.
Assembled of League One & Two players who've nearly all gone on to play Prem football.
Deal accepted for Harry Maguire, Andre Gray & Jesse Lingard.
Owners let him down totally & moved the goal posts re contracts. Accidently set us up to fail.
Cotts gone in February. Barely stayed up.
Johnson is too inconsistent, in any league.
Now second favourite for the job. Did you know something?Just settling an argument, would anyone take lee johnson as manager?
No. Absolutely not.Just settling an argument, would anyone take lee johnson as manager?
I quite like Sunderland, so I reallyyyyyy hope you don't get him.
Not only is he a terrible manager - eight League One defeats in a row, with an FA Cup exit (deserved on the balance of play) to Altrincham - but he's also a snake.
He should have been sacked the night we lost to Altrincham. But our late chairman refused to do so, saying that he didn't want to put a family man out of a job with Christmas around the corner. The Snake owed us some loyalty after that, but as soon as Bristol came calling (yes, our form had picked up*), he was off. No thought of repaying the bloke who should have got rid of him. See ya later.
*Our form had picked up, as I said above, but Johnson considers himself to be a genius, and he'd have messed with the formation sooner or later, causing us to tank again. He couldn't help himself. Playing the League One prolific striker Sam Winnall up the wing. Making an out-of-his depth left-back named George Williams his pet project, and playing him all the time until his confidence was completely shot. The only reason we improved is that we re-signed Adam Hammill (from what I heard, The Snake was forced into it by the board) as a free agent, and he pulled the rest of the players along with him. They were good players, instructed by a shocking manager and disgusting human being, and as soon as they got a few wins, their confidence grew.
Avoid him. He's a snakey dwarf, and you'd probably end up in League Two with him.
Sounds like Dumpy Little Stews sort of manheās a prick. And you know it, it just smarts for you lot because we was right all along.
heās a record breaking head coach, heās responsible for the longest losing runs, in the history of both Bristol and Barnsley. And heās a bellender
Strange post. Bristol is a big city and Bristol City rightly have ambitions to get into the Premier League. Why shouldn't they if the likes of Brighton are there? Johnson's job was to get them into the Premier League and he couldn't even get them into the play offs. It is patronizing to talk about them as a stabilized club in the Championship. Looking at Johnson's record and listening to the Barnsley and Bristol City fans above its pretty clear that the best we could hope for would for Johnson to play a major role in us becoming a stabilized League One club. In a year when we are desperate to get because the wage cap will cause utter chaos for us next year why would we appoint a manager who has never even got close to the play offs in his previous jobs? What are the benefits he would bring? It's a tricky business isn't it. The perception on the outside is that he moved the club forwards. The perception of Cotterill is not that great. He prob made a career mistake getting involved here with Sgt.Wilko. If a manager leaves when his stock is high, he is a traitor or everyone is at least devastated. If he stays long enough to endure inevitable troughs, unless you have multi millions, he becomes an overall failure despite his triumphs. Not saying it will happen, but at some point there will be Wolves fans unhappy if they aren't top 6 or 7 at some point and have a drop to something like 12th/13th. Burnley fans were moaning a few years ago about Dyche !!! Expectancy levels don't often mirror reality with supporters. I think Johnson will be remembered in a positive light eventually. You are a stabilized Championship club it would appear. Something he has played a major role in.
We are clearly getting hung up on job titles. Johnson's coaching abilities have brought no success so far. Why would we expect all of a sudden that his coaching will improve to the extent we get promotion? If he was a good coach surely there would be one season he could point to where he's got a team beyond mid table. If weāre looking for a coach heās one of a very limited number in the listed runners and riders.
Far more likely than the Cowleys if thatās the way weāre going
Lee Johnson's finishes as manager have been 15th, 15th, 17th, 12th, 18th, 17th 11th, 8th, 12th. He seems to be like Garry Monk or a few others. Talks well but then does poorly in jobs yet still gets appointed. Eventually, these people are found out to be not very good and have a career as pundits on telly. Unless our target this year is not promotion his managerial record suggests he should be nowhere near being considered. Virtually everyone else (not Campbell) linked has had some success but this bloke has none. The real question and the one much more difficult to answer is why we should be for Lee Johnson. Not looking for bites but as league one football club in what is known in football circles as poisonous job Why are we so against Lee Johnson?
Hahaha no just going to have to give me spastic mate 50Ā£Now second favourite for the job. Did you know something?
Lots of positive Lee Johnson stories going around - smacks of a Methven PR campaign to try and get support for what would be a dreadful appointment.Sunderland can wave goodbye to dull football by hiring Lee Johnson
