Laser Eye Surgery

I've noticed my close up vision has dropped off in the last 2 years. Struggling to fix the kids toys etc.

Is laser eye surgery still an option?

I was on the NHS waiting list in Ayr for laser eye surgery. It was going to be free but the wait was going to be about a year in October 2018. After driving around and somehow not having an accident for a few weeks I got it done privately and jumped the queue. The same NHS consultant did the business and less than 2 hours later I was fine to put my pin number in the card reader and Ā£495 was gone. I am now retired and reflect on a fairly regular basis why I paid North of 100k National Insurance contributions for about 48 years.

Went to get mine done but was told my eyes weren't suitable and there would be a good chance of being blinded so they refused to do it.
Couldn't you have lens replacement surgery? They do it at Sunderland eye infirmary and is an alternative for those who can't have laser surgery. It's a lot more expensive though.
