Koeman gone

Thankfully .

He's had millions to spend in the summer, he knew Lukaku wanted to leave since around March and he then had 6 weeks to find some sort of replacement. His excuses were pathetic because him and the board decided to throw all their efforts in to bringing in Giroud who messed us about. How can a manager not have a list of backup strikers, and move towards them, in case of Giroud not signing?

Him and Moshiri then started saying something about once you can't get option A or B, the other options aren't worth it. He's genuinely trying to claim that there were no other options out there other than Giroud and Benteke (if the rumours are to believed that he was option B). So we ended up with an unproven Sandro, Calvert Lewin who has now scored something like 1 in 19, and an ageing Rooney who doesn't stay up front anyway. It's laughable. You start off with a list of say Giroud and Benteke, then when you can't get them, you work down the list. He spent ages on the Sigurdsson transfer which is now looking quite pointless given that we didn't sign Giroud or Benteke as Sigurdsson's strengths are creating chances for those types of striker.

People may wrongly say he only got 9 games. He had 15 games, and we only put in an acceptable performance for the majority of the game in 1 of them - Hajduk Split at home. The performances have been dire, his selections have been awful and the passion has been sapped from the supporters. At Burnley there was audible boos at the end of the game. On Sunday there was barely anyone left in the ground to muster up any, and for weeks we've gone in to almost every game accepting that we most likely won't win. That's not good enough for this club, or any club who has ambition to improve.

Koeman had to go.
There was little criticism of Koeman last season. Everton fans were very happy when he left Southampton for Everton. Opinions change of managers, but it strikes me that Koeman is carrying the can for the disastrous Summer transfer window. That is the responsibility of Steve Walsh your Football Director.

You have gotten rid of a good coach, and I doubt you will find better. I guess you will be very happy if Everton appoint someone like Ancelotti, Silva or Dyche but I doubt they will risk their reputation in what is a very difficult job.

If Everton had ambitions, then why didn't they replace Lukaku? What ambitious club goes into a season without a recognised centre-forward. You spent a lot of money which raised expectations and there's no way Koeman could fulfil them with what is a weakened team.

There was criticism of him last season. The football was largely bland, he stripped nearly every flair player from the team, he had 2 dreadful runs (Oct - Dec and Mar - May), and he publicly slated Barkley and Niasse.

You keep believing he's a coaching God and let those that have watched it week in and week out disagree with you.

Said it to the EFC lad .. Wasting your time with Marv he’s totally clueless he still thinks Bravo and Julio Caesar are top keepers

Because he inherited a 25 goal a season striker. That was the difference in us being the best of the rest in 7th and the huge gap that developed below us. The fact Martinez had us 11th for 2 seasons running with Lukaku there shows what a poor job he did in his 2nd and 3rd seasons and was rightly given the sack.

Have a look at how many times West Brom have earned a top 10 finish in the last 35 years. Once, when they had Romelu Lukaku up front in 2012-13 scoring 17 goals. Lukaku was the difference and Koeman (and the board) failed to replace him. How you can attach no blame to Koeman is beyond me. Yet he spent nearly £70m on Sigurdsson and Klaaasen so was clearly given money to spend.

Just as much as Everton need a striker they need to create chances. The results we've seen have all been fair as hardly any chances have been created and the defending has been below par. Even Lukaku would've struggled to score from the play served up this season.

I wonder what all the Everton fans think of Moshiri? He is basically a goon for the dodgy Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov, who partly owns Arsenal.

Would not be surprised if they just want the clubs to launder their dirty money

While it would be no surprise to see oligarch's connected to money laundering I doubt they'd use probably their most public asset to do it. Like sending Jackie Chan undercover.

A lot of it is keeping them and their name in the public eye, trying to gain protection and insurance from a rogue umbrella point. Usmanov may well be behind the EFC Moshiri takeover, the stadium is part of a £6bn dockland development which may be handy if you own a steelworks.

As for Moshiri's work so far, mostly good. We're now 'debt free' as he has cleared it himself with an interest free loan Ashley style, he's got rid of two under performing managers correctly , negotiated heads of terms for Bramley-Moore dock and increased sponsorship and commercials. On the flipside he appointed Koeman which with hindsight looks the wrong decision plus there's valid questions over the internal football structure. It's still very early in his tenure but things look certainly to be moving in the right direction.

In some ways it us better, but the Peoples Club thing seems on the wane, and I think Usmanov and his little pal are dodgy in the extreme.

I would rather all the foreign owners were given the boot and it went back to how it used to be

Surely you're not out of debt if the new owner has shifted the debt to himself via a loan. It still needs paying by the club regardless of the interest rate

Koeman had to go.

Could be worse, we were staring down the barrel yet only had one striker target.

He decided against it so Moyes accepted the drop rather than select another.

totally disagree , he was given virtually a blank cheque book , has a decent squad of players to work with and has made a pigs ear of it. In fact if you read his CV , after a promising start at most of his clubs all of em went quickly downhill under him and he has numerous sackings.

Both sides made changes but Everton very unfortunate to go out of the cup last night they flung the kitchen sink at Chelsea maybe Koeman and his tactics were the problem after all
