Jobe Bellingham - Signed

Wonder why none of the big clubs are buying him for the future. It does seem like the Bellingham family have a lot of sense though and they sign for clubs they know are best for their development, rather than just money. So maybe he's had offers from bigger clubs.

Yeah... I think you have asked and answered the question. I think they know Speakman will look after him, and the team is certainly on the up. Nice to see an intelligent approach for a young player. Let's hope he breaks through.

We are a big club, he will play for us, we have a clear and recent history of developing young talent.

Think it's pretty obvious he and his family now think he first team ready, probably something none of the top Premiership sides can offer him at this time. That would mean reserve team football, or a loan out to a club where choices and chances are limited.

It's the relationship between Speakman, dodds and the other fella that's seen us jump ahead of everyone else, that and Belligham seeing for himself that we are a club that gives young talent a stage to show what they can do.

Liverpool, Man Utd, Dortmund and those up the road have tried. He’s chosen us
Speakmans influence must be huge(with the Bellinghams at least)....and his family appear to have an equally huge amount of common sense
We'll have four (five if you include Embleton) - Evans, Neil, Ekwah, Bellingham. I'm not sure we need more for what is, effectively, competition for two slots in the team.
can see us playing with a three next season

Don't think he'll be here next season tbh, but then I don't see Bellingham as a CM, I think he'll play a more advanced role.

Evans worries me, and I think we need a replacement for him. Rumours are we won't see him play till around December so that's no good if true.
Evans has improved since he’s been injured

He’s decent, don’t get me wrong, but he isn’t win the league class

Nice to get some business down early. Really think this is another really smart signing by the recruitment team.

Onwards & upwards!
It’s a smart signing hopefully first and foremost that he can develop into a belting player for us but it also shows to everyone our intention to bring in the best young players. That’ll in turn make us more attractive to other best young’uns and their agents.

Brand Bellingham will hopefully be massively successful for Sunderland!

Is that something you know, or based on paper talk?

Hugely impressive if true. We seem to be using the incentive of actually getting on the pitch to its full potential and with the right characters that would hold some sway!
