Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

Someone will go for big money.
I’d rather it be him than Rigg.
If we could get decent money for Neil it would be decent.

If he goes, and Niel doesn't sign a new contract, maybe a cheeky bid for Amad on loan for the season with an option to buy if we stay up? Imagine him and Le Fee in midfield with Riggy, class.

I'm cool with it all.

The model has clearly been the only way to build a promotion side - League 1 and Championship.

Speakman et al got pelters for it over the last few yor but have been shown to have been right all along.

The arrival of RLB and of course our somewhat fortunate assent to the promised land has brought it all back into focus but I can accept any transfer business the club choose to make.

Just to summarise what this fella is saying on X …deal is virtually done, agreement with players representatives done, just need to agree the fee with the club, expected to be £25m plus and will be announced next week.

We’ve not really sold anyone though barring Stewart which has been a masterckass and great business and the same with Clarke.

However with jobe I feel the club will put it in his hands.
If he feels his career is away from the club they (and us) will shake his hand and wish him well. The reported 30million appears good business at this stage if his career.

he's only played about 300 minutes of first team football, then does that for his boyhood club with his last kick of the ball for them.
Will live with him forever.
When we play Brighton he'll probably get a massive cheer and rightly so.
Then Hume will probably put him in row Z with his first tackle
I’m clearly grateful about Watson’s goal and his effort but remain unhappy about him pushing for a move from our club for the last 4 years. I’m a Sunderland fan not a Watson fan.

Agreed.

They've been building stock.

Watson was a surprise as it could have been expected for us to hang onto him for a bit longer and see his value increase - although I believe there are sell on clauses

I'm convinced another of the prized midfielders will leave and logically it's likely to be Jobe.

We have became as a club where he wants to be playing. Yes ge could go to the German league, but he wont be starting.

He starts our first game in the prem.

1 season to show his talent in the top league, then, if he continues as he has, hes going to a european top club in my opinion

I also think Mayenda will be a stand out

Its $$$ at the end of the day and rightfully so to a degree., Footballer is a short career with an extraordinary degree of risk of a single serious injury knocking your lifetime earning potential by half, or significantly more if you are 19. It does however have the potential to set yourself and your family up for life even with a ability to back the kids up in a few business ventures and that. Most of us have left jobs we dont hate because the money is better elsewhere and not for 7 figures.

Jobe and his people have to be looking at a year in the premier with us adding however much to his stock and potential earning on his next contract versus the risk of it not going well or him picking up an injury, it'd be a tough decision for a fella with 40 years of life experience never mind for a kid. I dont think how much you like being here can really be allowed to come into it.

I’ll be shocked if there’s an opportunity to boo him anyway he will be on loan at a championship club next season surely

Can’t stand in his way if Dortmund come in. He’ll leave a hero now like anyone else who may decide to go. He’s got us back to where we belong and for that he’ll always be remembered fondly. Though I do hope he stays.
