It was but he mimicked many stereotypes as they did back then
Irish etc
Those big names him,manning, chubby etc
Had great comedy skills and timing they just couldn't or wouldn't change

I’ve watched a bit of Bernard recently, he was a superb comedian. His timing, his delivery was first class but totally unsuitable to this day and age.

Not to mention his choice of words used.

2 years & 8 months later the parole board disagrees with Davidson...
Disgraced singer Gary Glitter refused jail release

They did agree with Davidson and Glitter was released on parole only to be caught breaking his parole conditions and jailed again. This is just his latest attempt at parole.
