so bowling 18.5 overs in an innings on soft run ups in the main isnt great preperation for bowling up to 30 overs an innings on much harder run ups
He hasn't bowled 30 overs an innings yet and most likely won't while he continues to go at 5 an over. You could argue he needed more overs under his belt but you are complaining that it was down to poor opposition, and while the opposition weren't great, would you rather England had sent down a few half volleys to make sure they were in the field a bit longer?.
I'm sure when McGrath, Gillespie and Warne were rolling through sides in 40 overs you didn't find many Aussies complaining they were undercooked.
It's just the way it is, he's 21, to ask him to play 13 tests in a year with his frame was always going to tough and very unlikely.
