My dad is a St Mirren fan and he's gutted Ross has gone( if true).

Totally rebuilt their squad/team and got them promotion in 18 months. Also has a very good record with playing the young 'uns and spotting young tallent.

He's told me to give him time and he'll be a very good appointment for us, especially in the position we find ourselves in right now.

Nailed on pre-season friendly up in Paisley was my dad's last remark to me:lol:

Stewart said something the other day "Sunderland have to get their heads out of the Prem and even the Championship, until that happens we will never rebuild" he is right, we all want a manager we've heard of but the reality is we aren't going to get a top manager, not at this stage. The new owners has just come in, give them a chance to get it right at least.

Absolutely this.

Its been said already but the reality is We're a League One side.

Also, Alex Ferguson managed St Mirren. ;)

A lot of people being underwhelmed with the Jack Ross Appointment......

1. We ave just had 2 successive relegations
2. We are a league 1 club
3. We have lost the most games than any other team in the last 10 years

Just a few pointers there to show why we are not going to attract Pep f***ing Guadiola!

We have attracted the Scottish manager of the year whos young, hungry and plays attacking football tho!
Lets get real lads and lasses............Im in!
No room for common sense here

Most people on here seem pretty chuffed. I would have been so underwhelmed with someone like McCarthy. There are so many parallels with 1987 - young squad, new owner and the appointment of a young, hungry manager.

Nah, we should have hired Eddie Howe.

Too right, as Methven said, no more piss taking, and that includes being taken for a ride by managers with over inflated opinions of themselves. Moyes anyone?

After the grindingly tedious football under MON/Moyes/Coleman/etc it's exciting to see someone who understands that goals win games.

Appointing a defensive minded manager, for a PL relegation battle, is obviously sensible ... but we have to go out to win games home and away.

Great appointment imo .... the St Mirren supporters have a very high regard for him.
