Let's look at them now, with the benefit of hindsight.
They havent been good investments. Not necessarily Allardyces fault but still his buys that haven't been value for money
With the benefit of hindsight they'd have been good investments if we'd accepted Everton's bid for Kone. That alone would have put us in profit for those deals.

If anything it showed just how poor Moyes was when he managed to completely alienate pretty much every creative player. Januzaj yesterday was talking about how Moyes played a ridiculous sytem and that his tactics were basically long ball and hope something comes off in the final third. Pienaar ahead of Khazri man.
Janujaz has a cheek criticising anyone considering his abject performances. He did nothing to deserve his place.

We didn't and he got a bumper new deal. The bastard
Yup. Absolute shithouse.

I have a fairly meh outlook on Jack Ross to be honest. I'll admit I don't know anything about him but I just don't get the feeling it is the right appointment. I know that some fans will disagree but of managers who are available and get performances out of teams Mick McCarthy is the best available (cue a plethora of morons telling me about 15 and 19 points), hes not a Premier League manager but he is a good Championship Manager with an eye for lower league talent, which is what we need, personally I'd be trying everything to get him on a two year deal with a year extension if promoted within the two years, beyond that who knows.

I just have an overwhelming feeling that Mick is the man for the job the club has to do right here and now.

Are you taking the piss?

Calling your fellow supporters morons, because they'd point out Micks 2 lowest points totals in the top flight for us. I like the bloke but I think better options need to be explored before we go running back to him.

not ITK or anything but reading what has been said by Donald & Co and in particular the bit where he mentioned that they aere’t looking beyond this season and are focussed about getting promotion out of this league. They said they needed a Manager who knows the League and the players in the League.
Jack Ross ticks none of those boxes and my guess is he is favourite purely to make the bookies money.

There's nothing like an informed opinion and that is nothing like an informed opinion.

This place.

I'll be pleased when they make the decision and we get stuck into the squad. If the speculation and comments on here re the many many suggestions no one will get full backing from this board  The time and backing he gets are the most important so the sooner the better

They definitely won’t if people are setting their expectations at Keane.
People need to adjust to our position, take their medicine, and realign their expectations.

The real meltdowns will be when the players we sign don't even have a wikipedia page and cost a few hundred thousand.

£10,000?

I’m expecting it though.

I honestly couldn't give a shite about the fees. I just want players that will be a success.

Nothing wrong with what I said. I don't know anything about him - if hes appointed good luck to the fella.

You said you know nothing about him. If you know nothing about something then how can you have an opinion on it? Well, an opinion that anybody should take remotely seriously.

MM is yesterday's man and we know he can't cut it at a higher level.

Jack Ross took over St Mirren when they were bottom by 10 points and then won the league at a canter this season playing attacking football.

I'm much more keen for us to try and push on with a fresh manager with some new ideas who doesn't have a track record of eventual failure at every job he's ever had. Ross and Hurst both tick those boxes, as did Wilder.

The new owner says it’s “totally unacceptable” that we’re in L1 so I’d imagine nothing less than automatic promotion is the target this season.

It’s a weird paradox on here where a lot of posters are preaching a parsimonious approach and you feel they’d be happy with a five year plan to exit L1 while paying peanuts and attracting monkeys. Suppose you see these types in everyday life too....squirrelling away every penny and leading a life of drudgery in the hope that at 65 some remarkable new world will be opened up to them.

There's nothing like an informed opinion and that is nothing like an informed opinion.

Why because it's the alternative view to yours. I could obviously research what hes done with St Mirren in Scotland, but I don't have to, I know football I've heard of people who manage football clubs, but not much about him, therefore find him uninspiring. Presumably you're writing his autobiography and know what the inside of his arsehole looks like?

Better options, I would agree - Lesser options, not so much.
