Jack Clarke

Rusyn does a lot of great work people don’t see like dragging defenders out of positions enabling the attacker behind him with the ball to run at them.

His work ethic is also top notch. 3-0 down at the mags and 90th minute he was still doing it.

We’ve seen our fair share of bottlers play for Sunderland, he is not one of them. Good head on his shoulders and tries for the team.

Regarding Clarke the writing was already on the wall last winter he was going, I’m more surprised it lasted until nearly September tbh.
Rusyn never drags defenders out of position man. That is why teams were able to double or even treble-up on Clarke.
His runs are always straight and always into the channels. He is ludicrously easy to defend against and in short….shite

What reassures me most is that whenever we sell a decent we always do really well with their replacements. Fredgaard after Johnston, Nunez after Bridges, Oviedo after Van Aanholt, Djilibodji after Kaboul, Ruiter, Steele and Camp after Pickford, and the Invisible Striker after Stewart.

Im confident.
I guess his replacement was Rusyn (?) who is not really a striker and also not really any good at anything.

All in all if I’ve done it right it’s only about 3.75 million less after spurs clause then they wanted.

so not that much.

they’ve sold quick to recruit more players imo. Could we have held out and got more? Yes. Would we have had time to sign players? No

Its a bit over £11M mate for our key player when other clubs are selling players for £25M or more. Pitiful.

Some mental gymnastics going on there. As usual.

Just playing devils advocate but potentially club taking cautious approach. Take the money now with over a week to spend it or they get an extra few million in the bank but no time to spend it.

Can’t help but feel like he was always going to leave this window. The actual fee means very little to us as fans as they could just decide to reinvest a higher % of fee received and it makes no difference

Ipswich fans over the moon.

But one wonders if, now we know the fee is so low, whether someone might come in at the 11th hour and get him.

Is this the model? Panic sell a polished performer at this level to fund one or two probables from an inferior level? An obsession with stagnation is inevitable.

Hope he goes and rips the premier league up. Been class watching him and of course it's gutting to see him leave, but this is the way it goes when the club is being ran the way it is.
