Striker
If we keep Clarke I will be over the moon, it still doesn't detract from the incompetence of not signing a proven striker for 597 days.Just checking. Is this you backing the club hierarchy?

If we'd sold early in the window and were able to move to make sure we strengthen the squad off the back of it I wouldn't have been against it.Like any transfer deal, it good money if you invest it well, it’s bad money if we’re weaker. For me it’s ‘can we get players in to make us stronger’
Never? If he is going to leave then hopefully it's not on deadline day.
@DonaldDownTheWingDoesn't someone on here know him or has a link to Clarke, I'm sure they've posted before about him staying or going.
I’d believe the moon was made of cream cheese before the Sun….Just checking. Is this you backing the club hierarchy?
I think he’s just using all this to get the best possible contract off us
This, he's already left them once to further his career without a look back at them why would he want to take a step back when he is producing the best football of his career here at a club that he loves being at.Can’t see him going to Leeds, step backwards, they are selling best players and we are tying ours down with new contracts.
Qué?Never?
Just like Elliot Embleton was supposedly Sunderland through and through but actually supported man unitedNo one knows which club he supported as a child growing up in York, I know kids that ignore Sunderland and Newcastle and support shields, yes he came through their ranks but that would only give him an affiliation. He's not going to Leeds just like when I told everyone that heckinbottom wasn't gonna be the new manager
We’re not actually tying them down though are we, we’re protecting our assets, most of the players will be for sale if the correct offer comes in, having them under contract will bump any transfer fee up a bit.
With the longer contracts we are essentially tying them down as it’s in our hands.
I've taught and lived in York for 27 years and can count on 1 hand how many of the people I've met have said they support York City. The majority support Leeds Utd or some random glory hunting team like Man Yoo or Citeh..LS postcode/addresses and surrounding area pretty much comes to Tadcaster though (so quite close to York) and the area just below York to the west like Sherburn etc are also classed as 'Leeds' even though they're about bloody 20 miles away from central Leeds.
I had a family member in that area who classed it as 'Leeds' so I do think York will be mixed, but will have a decent Leeds following.
In terms of being close like I'd probably rather drive up the A19 to Sunderland from York area than I would the A64 or M62/M621 into Leeds like![]()
