Jack Clarke

Very likely.

However, even if you’re talking £10k extra for each of the players you mention (which will be way over a ‘top up’) that equates to £3.6m a year for 7 players. Thats absolute coppers when you’re talking about the money on offer in the PL.

Every player in our squad (and their agents) realise that JC is the most important cog in terms of what he brings. They’ll be well aware that he deserves a fair whack more.

It’s also £10.8m over 3 year contracts if we don’t get promoted and stay in the championship with the tiny television deal money.

If Clarke was unhappy with Harte touting him around, he could easily enough stop it. If my accountant submits my books with loads of errors, it's on me, not him.
He's clearly not unhappy with it, but why would he be? Either he ends up with a PL move on more money or he ends up in a stronger bargaining position with us and gets more money.

I didn't think anyone reasonably can begrudge him wanting a crack at the PL after the last few seasons and thinking there's a fair shout we don't match his ambition. I think a lot of us might say the same

I agree. Just not sure what the point is of people directing anger at Ian Harte. At the end of the day what Jack Clarke does will be up to him himself.

That's an extra £3.6m we're losing a year without improving the squad at all though. Ironically it's things like selling our best players that will allow us to grow the wage budget. I'm just hoping we can keep Clarke this window and then try and have a real go at this season with him in the team.

Harte posting stuff like that does pretty much confirm to me that there are currently no acceptable bids on the table. I expect Clarke to sign the new deal once the window closes.
Just how desperate is he to get a move .... and If a bid comes in but the player doesn't fancy a move... what then

Still think £25m is too steep for Leeds but I’m still nervous about premier league clubs coming in for him next week.

Hahaha what about the “financial monsters” of 49ers and RedBull that yesterdays Leeds fan told us about?
I wouldnt mind having RB behind us ....its would make our life a little easier.

They need some positive pr after all the departures ... its a trump card harte is hoping gets played ...

Question is JC still ends up playing championship football and there's more pressure on him at a club going through significant upheaval

I think that's too steep for Leeds too. I'm quite relaxed about it, as the goal ultimately is to sell. You could buy four 5 million valued young players with the proceeds, which should be of a higher calibre of the youngsters we've signed in the past. That's just what the plan is.

He’ll get a bit of cash as if Clarke doesn’t go I reckon he will sign an extension, increase his wages, give us a little more protection fee wise…..admittedly not as much coin for Harte as a bumper move somewhere but I can hardly imagine he is on the bread line

Every player has his price, and if someone offers what we believe is that number he’s gone, and if that happens this window good luck to the lad
