Like any transfer deal, it good money if you invest it well, it’s bad money if we’re weaker. For me it’s ‘can we get players in to make us stronger’
If we'd sold early in the window and were able to move to make sure we strengthen the squad off the back of it I wouldn't have been against it.
Just feel if we sell him now we don't give ourselves a lot of time to get replacements in, we make ourselves weaker (until January at least) and strengthen a promotion rival in the same breath. Doesn't make sense.

I think he’s just using all this to get the best possible contract off us

I think there's going to be a limited selection of clubs in for him and we know he loves it here.

If there's a half reasonable PL club make the right offer, then he'd be gone IMO. But there doesn't appear to be.

But Leeds, since Red Bull investment haven't shown their hands yet. They were a financial disaster waiting to happen last season and couldn't shift the players permanently to get the wage bill down they needed to and some went out on loan. Now they're a season further in and have had to sell to the crown jewells as it were and have taken a bucket load of money in from other sales - but are they going to pay in excess of 20m? I guess that depends on how serious they are about promotion and how much backing Red Bull have actually given, amidst rumours of owing loads out on transfers and with one more season of parachute payments guaranteed. To people on the outside it looks like a bit of a shitshow at the moment.

I think he is probably sitting tight but may well sign the right deal if offered as if there's serious interest from the PL could still be sold.

Can’t see him going to Leeds, step backwards, they are selling best players and we are tying ours down with new contracts.
This, he's already left them once to further his career without a look back at them why would he want to take a step back when he is producing the best football of his career here at a club that he loves being at.

No one knows which club he supported as a child growing up in York, I know kids that ignore Sunderland and Newcastle and support shields, yes he came through their ranks but that would only give him an affiliation. He's not going to Leeds just like when I told everyone that heckinbottom wasn't gonna be the new manager

Just like Elliot Embleton was supposedly Sunderland through and through but actually supported man united

LS postcode/addresses and surrounding area pretty much comes to Tadcaster though (so quite close to York) and the area just below York to the west like Sherburn etc are also classed as 'Leeds' even though they're about bloody 20 miles away from central Leeds.

I had a family member in that area who classed it as 'Leeds' so I do think York will be mixed, but will have a decent Leeds following.

In terms of being close like I'd probably rather drive up the A19 to Sunderland from York area than I would the A64 or M62/M621 into Leeds like 😀
I've taught and lived in York for 27 years and can count on 1 hand how many of the people I've met have said they support York City. The majority support Leeds Utd or some random glory hunting team like Man Yoo or Citeh..

Also bear in mind that Leeds Utd train at just outside of Tadcaster at Thorpe Arch. 30 minutes from York.
