Yep this much was obvious anyway. Price isn’t the same for a championship clubClarke isn’t leaving this window unless our valuation is met by a premier league club. And the valuation is huge. Been told we won’t sell to a competitor in the same division so Leeds is off the table. Clarke is happy at the club.
I know. I am actually surprised myself.some pragmatic comments coming from the subs bench there mate.

Unless the Leeds fan works in recruitment for the club then it means nothing. As ive said a friend leeds fan is adamant they are getting clarke, however i think harte is using leeds to try and start prem clubs off in a bidding war
That is every player in any team not at City or RealWe’re not actually tying them down though are we, we’re protecting our assets, most of the players will be for sale if the correct offer comes in, having them under contract will bump any transfer fee up a bit.
It's been reported he's on 19k per week here. Surely we could push to the 35k mark for a player of his quality, that should compete with other championship clubs. Fair enough he goes to the PL for 50k+.He doesn’t want to leave but the wages other teams are able to offer compared to us are massive
It was never said that he signed it, it was said that he has agreed to sign.
Agreed was the language used.

If a player can command a £20-25million fee then they should be on that sort of money too. You can't just lose your best players because another player might want a pay rise.Once you do it for one you set that for everyone
Not sure what’s funny. If someone is doing the same job as you and you break the wage structure massively for them people will start expecting better pay rises. I’m not saying on the same wage as Clarke but they’ll expect the structure to be broken again. It’s factIf a player can command a £20-25million fee then they should be on that sort of money too. It's a simple answer, when a club bids 20m for you I'll give you a pay rise
So would you sell Clarke and not offer him an improved contract just to keep the wage cap?Not sure what’s funny.
