Jack Clarke

Told youse he was happy here 📝📝
Fair play, you did.

He’s always seemed happy here and has been professional throughout. All the talk of him leaving has been geared by Harte trying to get a big sign on fee probably.

More than likely has a release clause in the contract, but that stops the constant £10m bids hopefully.

Agrees 2 year extension to his contract good news all round
Nothing official yet.

If it does then I hope it is sufficient because no doubt Ian Harte will be touting him around again in January.

Ballard New contract, Clarke new contract. Ekwah leaves for around £8m a new CDM and 2 strikers , a right back that can play centre half and that’s a hell of a window
All that coming off ... tsunami jizz from the clappers...and everybody else

I’m sure that’s why Burnley kept bidding £10m for him, probs some verbal agreement we made with Harte for that figure. Thankfully Clarke didn’t push for a move and was happy here.

Having a release clause stops Harte touting him around for a lower fee.

Seems to love it here and just wants to play every week. He's probably thinking yea I could go to the premier League but I might only get a few games.

There is absolutely no way they will announce an extension, with all of the fanfare, and then sell him a couple of weeks later.

It’s so absurd that I can’t think of one example of it happening. Even in the crazy world of football.

If he signs an extension, he’s staying.
I agree wholeheartedly. But if theres one club to buck the trend it’s us.

I think Ekwah has a lot of potential. Problem is if we really want to kick on we do have to realistically sell someone for decent money.

We all expected it to be Clarke because we resigned ourselves to him leaving, but it looks like he’s signing a new deal (along with Ballard) so then you’d look to the likes of Patterson, Hume, Jobe, Neil & Ekwah.

Of those 5, I’d prefer Ekwah to go.
It's tough to say what'd be right, and would depend on the money. I'd rather lose Neil for say £15m for instance, than Ekwah for £8m. Hypothetical figures of course.

If someone offered silly money for Jobe you'd be just as silly not to take it. But I think the reality is that club's will have seen what the rest of us have seen last season, and realise silly money is not a safe bet on him at this stage.

Apparently so - dont know what's happened over the last couple of days, but Em says its all sorted. I've asked for the craic on whats happened over the last day or so, so ill pop it on here if /when I get owt.
Get in. Ask him if Mendy is signing while you're on please mate.

Bit ambitious with £8m mind...

I feel like I might be alone here, but I'd actually a bit sad to see Ekwah go. But something's gotta give if we're realistic, and I certainly wouldn't want that to be Clarke.
This. I think Ekwah will have a great career on go on to better things but if we are to lose someone for the greater good it's him.
