Jack Clarke

It's not paranoia at all. It's a realistic take on the situation. Clarke won't exactly be given much choice if X club comes in and offers us £25M and to double his wages. He'll be gone. It's not hard to work out mate.
Can you point to any examples of it ever happening before? If not I’d say that makes it massively unlikely, even just statistically.

If there were clubs likely to sign him this summer, he would not even be considering an extension. It just doesn’t work that way.

We also don’t know what sort of deal he’s agreed. Maybe a fee in there that releases him who knows I’m surprised he’s still here tbh maybe signing a new deal lowers the sell on to spurs etc who knows transfers with sell ins etc are complicated look at the cirkin one had a buy back that expired for example. Who knows what we originally sorted out with spurs for the lad as he was pretty much fodder to get rid of at spurs.

We can't alter the sell on!! That's a totally separate issue.

I’m sure I’ve read they sometimes run out or change after this period of the original contract in some cases.

I know that’s not the case here but I’m sure I read that in the past regarding a transfer it applies to the original length of the contract which was signed when he was sold to us. Again doesn’t apply as he’s still be in the original length contract but do sell on fees last infinity?. Given it old dani boy he will be looking to get his cash should Clarke sign for Leeds workman’s club select when he’s 42 😂

You're getting buy back clauses and sell ons confused imo

If true, Incredible news.

How is Speakman so good with contract renewals yet recently terrible with spending cash?

Great news but why have we brought in wide players who won't get a game and not spent the money on a striker.
Speakman has intimated before that he believes goals are coming more from wingers and less from strikers in the modern game therefore he doesn’t place the same importance on signing a striker that the majority of the fans do.

If this is true then you'd think it's a sign we have been willing to break our usual wage budget to keep a player of Clarke's ability. That was a big worry for me about this ownership if they'd be willing to spend to keep our better players. If they have pulled this off then fair play.

I wonder if that's why we haven't had a huge budget for strikers because we've put a lot into Clarke's new deal. If that's the case then i can understand it. We do still need at least 1 striker though. If we get mendy over the line that would be a cracking end to the window

All this is stemming from a SAFCNEWS2024 Twitter account

There is no “SAFC NEWS” ffs. It’s an attention seeking supporter making shit up to feel good about themselves when they get likes, shares and comments.

Probably a poster on here as well.

I suspect somebody saw a bullshit twitter or Facebook page and thought it was true
