I think the passing's on par, and the stats will attest to that. Tackling... not a massive amount in it either. I think Ekwah's a bit stronger in terms of interceptions / blocks.
Work rate - I might give ya, but I'd be interested to compare distances covered. That's one stat I can never seem to get a hold of.
I don't think there's an awful lot between the two. Ya might even argue they're too similar.

There's nothing wrong with Ekwahs passing imo. Neil's biggest weakness is getting caught in possession in dangerous positions. Was listening to one of the podcasts the other night and apparently he was the worst centre midfielder stat wise in the league for getting caught in position and the turnover leading directly to a goal.

Neither are what you would class as out and out defensive midfielders either which is a bit of a problem. I'm with you, I think Ekwah has a lot going for him and we have to remember he is still learning/ improving. If it's him and Dan as options for that number 6 role then I think that's a very decent couple of options. If I am selfish I would like another Cory Evans type to play that role more defensively minded on occasions when the games suit.

I'm not saying he's a poor passer. Neil is better though IMO.
Yes, he is guilty of getting caught in possession but he's still learning. Sometimes you just need to get rid. A decent forward would help that, just lifting the ball towards him with less chance of it coming straight back like it does now

The only thing that makes me doubt the authenticity of this, is why would the club wait three days to announce unequivocally excellently received news?

They both have pros and cons of one another. If Ekwah had Neil’s work rate I think
Ekwah would be a very good player as he’s physical as well.
Neil is too slow on the ball and gets caught far too often. Last season we lost a few goals to it and the first game this season it’s like he’s not learned from it
