Jack Clarke

Bit of a sly dig at the OP there like?
He's been spot on with his info in the past.
He could yet still commit his future to Sunderland.
He definitely had an extra spring in his step on Sunday. I wonder/hope if he did and they are just waiting for the perfect moment to announce it.
Cheers hetty.
Nothing to be concerned about then.
That's why i'm not too worried, no one will match the asking price of over £25m+ imo by next Friday

We simply can't sell Clarke now for any fee imo. We're 2 league games into the season and we're showing signs we can really be a threat this year and have every chance of being right in the mix come the business end of the season. Sunday shown just how good we can be when we have a striker who's on it. We are working on bringing more strikers in which imo could be the final piece of the jigsaw.

If we now decide to sell Clarke, that for me would be the owners confirming promotion isn't their main priority and they're more interested in maximising profit. Even if we do fall short this year, Clarke could be sold next summer and we'd still get £12m ish imo. That is still a huge profit on a player we paid circa £1m for. Clarke being around this year will also ensure the likes of Jobe, Rigg etc continue to develop. I'd expect Rigg to be sold next summer for a massive fee (£25m plus you'd think given his ceiling). We don't need to sell Clarke when we have all this sale potential across the squad

We should have been firm and said to Clarke if the season starts and you're still here then you're not leaving

He never said that
His contract runs out 2026, op said a 2 year extension so 2028?
Its getting to the point now whereby unless a mental offer or 30M cash upfront comes in its not worth selling. We wont replace him in the time we have left and it all but shatters any chance of promotion.

Promotion is worth 5 times what this anticipated value of Clarke is worth.
If we sell him then we know club don't want to challenge for promotion

I agree with that but the problem is they are going against what they said to him last season. They promised he can leave if someone matches the asking price. Somebody has to do that first mind.

He also loves being the main man here ...there is nobody that has his skill in and around the box here.

At Ipswich it's different ... tripling your wages must be fabulous... but you're starting again at a newly promoted club... and your going to be cannon fodder. So not only do you have to rrprive yourself at the club and to its fans... you also have to feed if scraps to do it. In a team of high priced mercenaries

For a lads that was not given a chance at spurs...and who Jose destroyed his confidence...that might not be the dream move he might want

Safc have to do its part now... make him want to stay more
He’ll not realise his potential at Ipswich, he’ll get the ball deeper on the pitch and be doubled up on. I’m sure he’s good enough for Palace or West Ham which would suit him far better

Difference is, Leeds are in it for promotion and not just to accumulate and flip assets.

That’s why we’ll end up selling.
Yes selling about 150m quid worth of players while their fans are doing backflips about it seems of going for promotion and not absolutely scrambling to not let the financials go tits up.

It's reported we want £25m isn't it. Which to me would need to be a guaranteed £25m, not including add ons. I personally can't see someone offering that

It is yes. I do think Ipswich will get to that amount if they are offering £15m plus £5m in add ons.

1st season its be a utter scrap to stay up...even if they keep throwing money at the problem

He needs a good environment ...one that's league established.

We need to ask for at least £25m due to the 25% sell on clause to Spurs.

I actually think Jack Clarke will sign a new deal but if he does go then so be it.

I'd be flabbergasted if Clarke rejects the chance of going to play PL football, even if it is with a relegation threatened team.

If Ipswich do come down, then they will likely be in a decent position to mount another challenge for promotion, whereas if Clarke stays, he's unlikely to play PL in the next two years.

He'll also get a bumper pay increase.

Clarke has remained very professional throughout all these rumours (not just this summer), however, he'll be chomping at the bit to get into the PL where he will no doubt think he belongs.
