India v England series

I think his logic is that irrespective of how few tests he has played at home he is still relatively inexperienced away from India. Personally I just think he’s an excellent bowler wherever he plays.

Conditions in England are pretty unique too. How often has played in them?

Dunno 3 or 4 tests? Hes quaity and bowls a full length. No doubt in my mind Bumrah and India will bowl well in our conditions. They did last time and have more experience as a result of it. However our bowlers are even better still in those conditions.

they will but not as well as our bowlers

their attack is he same as it was a few years ago when they came over.

I genuinelly thiknk the main issue will be our younger batsman playign India so soon after this beating, will be a few scars

ridiculous schedule like

Best thing to do is prepare more ‘hard fast green tops‘ in England and see how Indian spinners perform !! If that fails start to put out your best players.

I think we should certainly prepare wickets that suit us for the summer - green and imperishable. In the meantime, England have been abject in the last three tests. The cause of their failure was summed up by one key statistic in the Fourth Test. Our spinners managed to take only two wickets between them.

As true as this is, we've still toured Asia this winter and won three out of six Tests - I think we'd have all settled for that at the start.

Not saying we've been good enough in every area, but I really don't think this is a Tour that needs to be looked at through doom and gloom - we performed admirably in the first three Tests, and then shit selection policies cost us from there on.

I think it's been a relatively successful winter tbh

Kohli has won 23 out of 30 tests at home. They’ve only lost 2 in that time and 1 was when we hammered them 1st test. I agree with you think we’ve done alright

Yup. That first Test was, for me, one of our best ever wins overseas - it was so convincing.

Obviously we still have a lot to work on, and let's not pretend it was rosy - but I think overall, we've slightly exceeded expectations in the most testing of conditions.

Roll on the summer now!

Feels weird me being positive, mind

We should note that Sri Lanka are in a desperate slump right now. But, yes, there have been positives. The win against India was remarkable and some players have undoubtedly gained from the experience.

Tbf Sri Lanka are shite but we acquitted ourselves well in India until they started f***ing cheating!

I agree with that. The same results but a slightly better effort from our young batsmen in them latter tests ewould have been what I would really have liked

Same here, but equally it's a learning experience for them. They'll come out better players for this experience

Also, all of the young batsmen - Pope (who let's not forget wasn't meant to be fit for this series and is coming back form injury), Crawley (another one who's carried an injury), Lawrence and Sibley have all been in the bubble for MONTHS with no respite.

Burns missed the SL tour and came into this cold and undercooked.

I don't think the effects of this should be understated. I think most young players would've really struggled being in a bubble away from home in a totally alien country for that length of time.

I tend to be over critical sometimes, but I really do think we should cut these lads some slack

Ignore the batsman and thr game

This is a fair point

Is that actually leg before wicket?

It's very difficult to tell at that angle and that speed, but I don't think so...
Actually I'll watch it and think no way!! Then the next time I'll be like no, that's out. And so on...

I definitely think it's one where the benefit of the doubt should go to the batter

I don’t disagree with any of this

And it’s annoyingly me how people are trying to rewrite history, we’ve been excellent for 18 months

Won 6 tests away from home

But I worry a bit that a few might take while to recover off this and they play India for 5 tests, same bowlers etc

I don’t see how that can be close to being lbw considering where thr ball ends up

Doesn’t make physical sense
