It’ll be impossible given the pitches will be massively doctored to assist Ashwin and Jadeja. It was pretty blatant that they did in 2021 after Root scored 200 against them in the first test. It will be even more blatant this time as they wont want to risk it being competitive coming off the back of an embarrassing World Cup final defeat.

No,at the time Matt was picked for England he was undoubtedly the better. Hopefully Callum can develop and match Matt's form for Durham last season.

I agree. He has good attributes but doesn’t put it together very often. Usually goes around the park with the ball and rarely gets more than a quick 15. He should be much better than he is.
