He's had more not outs which helps skews stats.

Not that being not out is a bad thing.

But I remember Cook last few years being boosted by a couple of big not outs, even though in the main he was well below his standards.

His average is actually lower now under McCullum than his last 20 tests prior. SR gone up by 20 though

But if you take runs per innings batted he scored at 52.97 in that first period compared to 45.11 since McCullum in charge. 5 not outs compared to 1 though makes a big difference for the average.
