If we'd kept Mannone .....

For the record i was saying in the summer that we were slightly shitter than Burton. so my opinions are worth more than yours and I'm saying mannone wasn't better than ruiter.

I think we would have had at least another 10-15 points and thereore be mid table mediocrity instead of relegation fodder.

Two decisions have cost us this season...one the goalkeeper and two not replacing Grabban.
Shite goalkeepers not good enough as first choice for any club in this division.
No proven goal scorer at this level
Equals failure
You don’t need to be Stephen Hawkings to work it out

He wanted to leave and the managers decided to sign shit replacements. Nothing to do with Short or Bain.

Don’t be silly have you noticed how much we have spent on 3 keepers....who dictated that do you think?

all for 2 mill quid, and the wages of the wage bill, possibility gonna cost us a our place in the championship, and the worst moment in our history, Martin Bain and Ellis Shorts names will go down as some of the blackest in the next volume of the clubs history, along side Lawrie Mac, Howard Wilkinson, and one former player who is currently in prison

And them all of them only reside in the 6th circle of SAFC Hell, as far below them you can just make out the tiny figure skulking in the shadows of Jack b**tard Rodwell...

Definitely. If you don't score goals, you can't win matches, but more than that it takes pressure off a nervous defence.

That would be right, but it doesnt work like that does it. Transfers aren't free, even if there isn't a fee due to another club. I doubt the club came out much ahead after the signing on fees and agents fees etc for those two keepers from the reported 2m they got for manone. I think Vito had just had enough and was disenfranchised with the club after being so far from the first team, so got it in his head that he wanted to leave and then he did. Despite the fact he would have been first choice.

I always liked Vito, but let’s be honest, he was prone to mistakes if low on confidence.

Having witnessed how bad our back line is, I imagine he would have suffered as well

No chance we would be where we are if we had kept Vito. Everything this club has done in the last three years has been about the here and now. No longer term planning or strategy. Boy are we reaping the rewards of mismanagement

But he didn't "want to leave" did he?
The club pushed him...

How has he done at Reading they have not had a great season.

He saved them two points on Friday to start off with.

More to the point he knew our defenders and they knew him.

Why chuck that out the window for Jason Steele?

Mannone is miles ahead of the three we have got on the books. A solid enough keeper who would have done a job for us this season. Unlike the three clowns we have brought in to replace him.

Much better than the three who have replaced him. The goalkeepers we have signed are the 3 worst we have ever had and have made relegation a certainty.

How much is our 3 goalkeeper salarays now compared to what VM was earning?

Agree 100%

Pickford going was one itabke asoit only really valuable asset.
Mannone going made zero sense even in purely business terms as there's no way we'd be dropping down to League One with the added financial problems that brings.

To be fair we should have kept Pickford . None of his transfer fee will or have been used to improve the team and I bet he was not on a massive salary .
