Hume Hybrid Role

The stats of ground covered have been presented to you you can’t blame the wingers in a game where we can’t pass ball 5 yards

Ground covered means nothing of you can't do f#ck all with the ball at your feet. Go watch the game back and watch West Hams wide men see what they do differently to ours. They were an absolute nuisance from the off and always provided a threat. Our lads did nothing of the sort.
I need to rewatch but I thought Mayenda was up top in a 4-4-2 and Hume right. Then it shifted into 5-4-1 with Hume and Mayenda shifting back one line each

Hume spent most of his game in CM. He gave the ball away and made sloppy passes in there as he was uncomfortable at being in that position. Enzo was advanced, but had to drop back more lot due to us losing the ball all too often.

It's old news now, and we move on, but it didn't need to be like that when we had Diarra and Geertruida on the bench.

We didnt have the possession for our wide players to do anything

Sorry I meant out of possession

I don’t mind Diarra not starting, due to fitness and connection. Geertruida I find strange because all I see is a really solid player but he doesn’t seem to get much game time, even over Afcon

I’d have had Sadiki, Le Fee and Geertruida CM

Why does RLB keep insisting that Hume can play some kind of hybrid role in the team?

At times hes playing RCB/CM when we've played 5 at the back.

Today he played a kind of RM/CM hybrid.

It has never worked once and should be immediately put on the scrapheap.
It worked very well against Palace. On Saturday we seemed to play a more rigid 4-4-2 but Mukiele kept dropping into the centre and our shape was fucked. Hume was all over the place and Sullerville had them both on toast all firsf half.

Hume didnt play well agaonst West Ham but he's played allright in that sort of RWB pushing intonthe centre role.
