How long can Rafa last?

Wey he did get 5th, quarter finals of Europe, had yous a top 10 club. All this without any real backing from the owner

This is why he keeps getting jobs y'know, because people forget all the shit and think only of the 2012 season's 5th placed finish, or getting Palace to the cup final.

How many seasons did he get us 5th? How did he do in his other seasons? What's his W/D/L percentages like? What was the football like? How well did he manage players' individual personalities? If things went wrong did he arrest the slide or did we go on record breaking losing streaks? When we were beaten was it close, or did he oversee more maulings than any other Newcastle manager in memory?

When he left for Palace yous were 10th, season before that he finished 10th. Had one bad season I think but that was down to Europa league taking its toll. With the money he spent he did a pretty decent job. As soon as Beintez gets criticised people blame the owner but no one gave Pardew the same sympathy. What was his net spend in his time there?

You mention the 10th placed finish in 2013/14 - Pardew brought us 14 losses from the final 20 games. Fourteen... 35 conceded, and only 14 scored. We were 6th after 18 games, we were closer to 17th than 7th by the time the season ended. People focus on the start of that season, but ignore that the majority of that season was f***ing terrible. "One bad season". Bollocks, he had one good season.

Well king Rafa has had one bad season (RELEGATED), one acceptable season (promoted with by far the biggest budget). He hasn't really had a good season yet so he's behind Pardiola on that score.;)

Summer 2016 Benitez has the best squad in the championship, spends £54m and then about another £40m the following summer.

Hughton at Brighton and Wagner at Huddersfield started summer 2016 with much weaker teams than Newcastle (especially Huddersfield). Both teams have spent less than Newcastle since summer 2016.

12 games into following season and about 16 months on from that summer, Newcastle are below both Brighton and Huddersfield.

Lots of talk the other day on the radio that Benitez will hand in his resignation if takeover falls through and he does not get funds to spend. Why does he have such a strong bargaining position? Are people still going on about a cup win in 2005?
He's a cheque book manager at the end of the day.

So achieved safety pretty much and then became difficult to motivate the players for the rest of the season? Happens with 90% of other clubs in the world when in the same situation

It's pretty obvious why he has a strong bargaining position, isn't it?

Not really. You got 10 points from 9 games last time in the Prem and were promptly relegated. You then spanked Spurs.

He then laid out circa £60m in transfer fees and you won the Championship with the last kick of the season. Job done though.

Solid start to the premiership this season and you're now hitting a rough patch. I expect you to beat Watford today though. Lose however and you'll be hovering just above the relegation zone with a tough run to come.

He's doing an "alright" job to be fair, but the adoration thrown his way from your lot is hilarious.

Well, we had 33pts when he downed tools, not the 40pts that usually marks comfortable safety. Be honest with yourself, why are you making excuses for Alan Pardew? Is it because you think he's a good manager that was treated unfairly? Or is it that Newcastle fans hate him?

Because objectively he was mostly shit at Newcastle, he was mostly shit at West Ham, at Palace, and at Charlton. He lost games, lost them badly, then blamed anything but his own limitations, including "science". He abused other manger, headbutted an opposition player, insulted other clubs, and acted the ****.

In every full season as Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew went on a run of games that lasted at least one third of the season where his win ratio was between 14% and 29%:

10/11 – 14 games / 2 wins (14%)

11/12 – 17 games / 5 wins (29%)

12/13 – 14 games / 2 wins (14%)

13/14 – 20 games / 4 wins (20%)

Alan Pardew was the first Newcastle United manager to lose 6 consecutive Premier League games.

In the 2013-14 season, Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United lost 4 home games in a row without scoring a goal – the first time in the club’s entire history that this has happened.

In the 2012-13 season, Newcastle under Alan Pardew lost their final 3 home games, the only time in the club’s history that they have done so.

Before Pardiola arrive Newcastle had lost 35 Premier League goals by 3 goals or more. Pards lost 20 Premier League games by 3+ goals since December 2010.

That's not all he's done, work on the pitch is one factor, but there's more to it. The mood shift is palpable. If Coleman can capitalise on the warmth that his surprising appointment created, then I'm sure you'll see similar.

With wages taken in to account it will have been by far.

Stop using actual evidence! It's not fair.

Don't have the figures at hand so if you say so i'll take your word for it.

Newcastle like Benitez therefore he must be shit.
Newcastle fans don't like Pardew therefore he must be good.
Newcastle fans don't like Ashley therefore he must be good.
Newcastle fans think the takeover would be an improvement, therefore it must be a disaster.

Newcastle fans don't blame Rafa for the relegation therefore it was his fault and nobody else's.

I said way before Benitez was at Newcastle that I would not want Benitez here at Sunderland, I stick by that, it is nothing to do with being bias against Newcastle, it is my own personal opinion right or wrong that Benitez is overated.

Well that is nowt really to be proud of (or ashamed of), but you are not a football fan, you are just a sunderland fan.

Cup competitions since 2005, every other season he has underachieved mostly and in some cases very very badly. Liverpool he wasted the prime years of Gerrard, Torres etc, then its took years to rebuild after his spending, it got to the stage he wanted rid of Xabi Alonso for Gareth Barry. Inter Milan he took over league and european champions and left them 7th, Chelsea did ok to be fair, Napoli was an absolute disgrace, spent more than any other team in Serie A in each of his seasons there and failed in the league, Real Madrid

This is pretty much it mate

Stopped reading there mate

Not true really, a more correct statement would be a "disillusioned football fan"........Tired of the greed, money and media hype around the game now. Players are so overpaid that it is now beyond a joke.
