When he left for Palace yous were 10th, season before that he finished 10th. Had one bad season I think but that was down to Europa league taking its toll. With the money he spent he did a pretty decent job. As soon as Beintez gets criticised people blame the owner but no one gave Pardew the same sympathy. What was his net spend in his time there?

Well king Rafa has had one bad season (RELEGATED), one acceptable season (promoted with by far the biggest budget). He hasn't really had a good season yet so he's behind Pardiola on that score.

So achieved safety pretty much and then became difficult to motivate the players for the rest of the season? Happens with 90% of other clubs in the world when in the same situation

He then laid out circa £60m in transfer fees and you won the Championship with the last kick of the season. Job done though.

Solid start to the premiership this season and you're now hitting a rough patch. I expect you to beat Watford today though. Lose however and you'll be hovering just above the relegation zone with a tough run to come.

I said way before Benitez was at Newcastle that I would not want Benitez here at Sunderland, I stick by that, it is nothing to do with being bias against Newcastle, it is my own personal opinion right or wrong that Benitez is overated.

Cup competitions since 2005, every other season he has underachieved mostly and in some cases very very badly. Liverpool he wasted the prime years of Gerrard, Torres etc, then its took years to rebuild after his spending, it got to the stage he wanted rid of Xabi Alonso for Gareth Barry. Inter Milan he took over league and european champions and left them 7th, Chelsea did ok to be fair, Napoli was an absolute disgrace, spent more than any other team in Serie A in each of his seasons there and failed in the league, Real Madrid
