How did Sunderland win the Play-Offs

I think it is AI. Someone made it and posted it on YouTube under the name 'Shank Williams and the Silksworth Six' back in February, but I can find no record of their existence anywhere except that post. It was made back in February and only 60 people had ever listened to it since then. Definitely worth more, so I included it.
Imho the lyrics could have been written for real as chatgpt doesn't have access to up to date news iirc ? It might still be chatgpt but just manually fed up up to date information in the prompt - rhyming "sure" with "assured" is a bit suspicious, and referring to Rigg as "keeping score" doesn't really make sense and seems to be shoehorned in for the rhyme with Isidor. These could still concievably be the work of a not particularly good human writer imho.

You and @stewart10 are right the music itself is a pretty obvious AI job though:
  • The word setting is pretty dodgy in places - treating Sunderland as a 3 syllable word when 99% of lads fans just say sunlun is a bit odd but not necessarily a definite sign as the "singer" has a midlands (?) accent. However "sorcery" as a 3 syllable word when every UK accent, at least as far as I'm aware, completely leaves out the e in the middle sounds very unnatural beyond what the most incompetent human writer is capable of. The same applies to the elongating "championship" to 4 syllables and the bizzare attempt to shoehorn "quiet" into one. A bit scary how AI wordsetting has come on in the last year though, to the point where there's only 3 obvious giveaways in a full song - a year ago it was putting strong syllables on weak beats and vice versa pretty much every line.
  • The most obvious give away imho is still the sound of the voice - when you listen to a real singer (especially if you slow the recording down), you notice a lot of subtle slides between notes. When a singer changes note, the vocal cords obviously can't move instantly - good singers can do it quick enough that you can't hear the slide in real time but a lot of the time they slow it down and keep the slide in for expressive effect. A year ago AI voices didn't do these at all, but nowadays they kind of do it but still sounds a bit weird and unnatural. Aside from any of the specific music stuff it still has the weird flatness and lack of expression that makes AI voices still fairly easy to spot in non music contexts when they're not using a direct "reference" recording. Like most AI music it's somewhat bearable for the verses but as soon as vocal harmony comes in for the chorus it sounds about as real as the dream I had last night about patto making a cup of tea in my kitchen. As far as I'm aware the best AI voices we have at the minute work by first having a real person do an impression and then map an AI on top to either make it sound like a specific person, or change the accent from something with a lower percieved status to higher one (eg indian -> american or geordie -> mackem).
  • And of course there is the surrounding adminy stuff around it like the "band" having no contact details, the album cover being AI (look at how long the guy's right thumb is and how short his left one is), and the "band" being named after a suburb of sunderland while the singer has a midlands/southern accent. The singer's accent also changes a bit between the different songs on the channel.
I really wouldn't worry about the credit if I was you, because if whoever is behind this channel is trying to pass off his "work" as real music, he honestly deserves to be tarred and feathered.

Loved the video as usual.

MS out

Right then. Here it is. Too young, too naive, lacking experience they all said. Well the pundits were wrong.

They were also wrong about Sheffield United dominating the game. The first 20 minutes Sunderland were under the cosh, but slowly through a series of small tactical changes Sunderland grew into the game and ended up dominating possession and having almost as many shots and chances as the Blades. So what did the pundits miss and just how did Regis Le Bris turn the youngest team in the Football League into Championship Play-Off winners.

Well come in and take a look and do me a favour; stay 'til the end'. There's a treat to finish with. Enjoy everyone.

I don’t say this lightly, but that is one of the best videos I’ve ever watched. Loved the song at the end - cutting onions etc 😭

Great stuff mate. You've been a revelation this season. The club should get you to do something next season. Very professional, well apart from the odd expletive.

Doesn't sit right with me 😉 😂

Excellent video thanks once again. You also confirmed that we watched a different game from SKY and the so called ex professionals, who can't read a game... who all said we weren't in the game for 75 mins..
Glad it wasn't just me. Haven't yet watched this review but I watched the extended highlights back and had no idea why the commentary team were so flabbergasted that "Sheff United had somehow conspired to lose the game". You'd think they'd played like peak Man City.

I even thought at 1-0 at half time we'd looked like we could win the game.

thanks for this i'll be watching this over and over.

Honestly, I've been watching everything about the final for more than a week and still, you pick up on things I've never noticed and I don't think anyone else did either here or on YT.
Thanks for your brilliant work all season, we're lucky to have you!
