John Lewis Partnership issues profit warning amid Waitrose closures - Retail Gazette
Never been my experience, I've always found JL stores to be much nicer inside, tidier and better laid out.
JL have a different business model to others though. Profits close to zero in 1st half but expecting better 2nd half.
Absolutely no chance.
JL customer service is second to none. That’s why people shop their and pay for than they would for the same products online.
Poundland can't survive and HOF can't survive. It's all fucked like.
Anyone else noticed the rise in Barbers shops?
Also how come there's loads of mobile phone shops? Surely people get one once every two years or something?
It's Poundworld that's been in trouble isn't it? (not Poundland)
Homebase is also in trouble.
Most of the stuff in Poundland and Poundworld is crap and easily available elslewhere. Often similarly priced and usually of better quality.
The food stuff they have in can all be bought in a supermarket for around the same price.
Is Micky Quinn buying House of Fraser?
Some staff st HOF were given redundancy notices weeks ago.
Every time the dragon went in she’d mention the staff just standing around talking all the time , she always had to ask for help rather than the staff approach you first .
Reckon Fenwicks can survive?
Chi Onwurah will raise it in parliament
Joking aside, yes. Always busy.
My God! I hope that doesn't mean that Southwick Green Waitrose might be under threat!
aye, its always chocka
I hope so.
But I bet they sell on all the decent stuff to other retailers and they'll be left with all the shite they can't shift
Not a chance, the store on the green is their flagship store. It's thriving since Marley Park was built
Pew ... Can you imagine where us locals would have to go to buy our chickpea and puy lentil salad?
funnily enough they have got a new CEO and are going through a huge re-structure at the minute. Some redundancies across the stores sadly has well, but by the sounds of it was ran very inefficiently.
Fat Mike’s bought it for 90 million nicker.
Ashley has bought HoF.
The rise of the ‘Turkish Barbers’ has been noted. Probs a front for ISIS like the vast amount of sun bed shops a few years back was for laundered drug money
