Honeyman to Hull?

It was one of many mistakes, not the main one though. there's any number of mistakes that had they been rectified could have saved us / earned us goals, which in turn could have won us promotion because the margins were that fine. that was just one of them.

there was also absolutely no improvement when honeyman was out. in fact many were saying we missed his energy as out form was dog shit anyway.
I wrongly thought we missed him. We didn't. Hes a poor player

Now first of all George Honeyman was a great local lad, perpetual motion on the pitch and never gave less than 110%

But, in imho he was not a skipper, as soon as say Catts was on the pitch he took over chatting to the ref and hollering/organising all the other players. Also he was not a winger or a creative/defensive midfielder in the way we were playing.

I genuinely wish the lad well and hope he kicks on...

one of the few players we are getting a fee for so cant be bad considering all the other shit we got fuck all for over the years, good luck to him

We want 5 million for our aging keeper with one year left on his contract but only 400k for our captain, coming into his prime years, with one year on his contract so can't be that good either.

Are these new comments or from yesterday? Can understand why people thought Ross didn't know/didn't have a choice from that.

“I’m sensible enough to understand that we have to balance the club,” he stressed. “It can’t all just work one way as a manager. You can’t just get your wish when you want to recruit and then not be happy when you have to lose players

What's this about his contract as well? I though he already had a year extention written into his contract anyway?

“We had a situation with George last year that probably wasn’t healthy in terms of the contract being allowed to run down to its last six months.
I can't. He's talking about the 'one in, one out' policy isn't he?

Am i the only one thats slightly dissapointed by this?

I’m disappointed that he didn’t push on and be a better player for us.

I’d love to see a few local lads come up through the academy and become first team regulars.

Despite ample opportunity, Honeyman never really made the step up. Best of luck to him in the future, however, I’m not disappointed to see him leave.

Snippet from SD in todays Echo....

Stewart Donald has addressed some supporters' concerns over the deal which looks set to see George Honeyman leave Sunderland.

The Black Cats' chief has confirmed that the deal was run past the football management - including Jack Ross - first, rather than him making the immediate decision.

That to me suggest that all of the Football Management , SD, JR,TC and the other fella had a say in whether Honeyman stays or goes and they chse the latter..

Yes I saw what he said on twitter yesterday. Th comments from Ross I posted were front rj Chronicle today so wasn't sure if they were new ones or from yesterday that Donald clarified.

I think there will be more behind the reason for letting him go than reasons for keeping him...Ross couldn't allow him to play regular the season in the team... Has he gone yet?

Not seen any confirmation yet but was said to be having his medical yesterday so presumably if there's no issues there it won't be much longer.
