I can see why he did it. Cattermole was possibly away, most players new to the club. He'd have been expected to be in the team most weeks and had been here for a long time.

Became an issue when he couldn't perform in the no 10 role. Taking it off him would have been a bad move also for morale etc.

He wasn’t really good either - he was useful in terms of energy but I don’t see how you can use him in a starring role with his lack of quality.

The type of player you’d want in and around a squad, rather than be relying on week in, week out.

You’re massively overreacting about the fans involvement. He was slated on here regularly, but he never got booed at the match nor seemed short on confidence.

We’re in league 1 and you’re saying not a bad player. Tells you it all. I’ve seen very few people say that he’s a good player, just simply saying that he’s not bad and we’ve had worse.

If he’s not standing out at 24/25 in league 1 then we might as well get rid to make way for someone like Embleton.

at the mometn embleton can only fdream of being what honeyman is..because honeyman is a cham[po player..and embleton might not even be a starter in league one..though i hpe he is..
 
Did his best. Not irreplaceable or even needing of a new signing to replace either as a player or captain. Good deal all round imo.

I think he's a good poster. There is simply no doubt that fans have a 'boo boy'. It has always been thus - fans project all the problems on to an individual and don't see any good in that player even when they play well. This has always been true and is true of all clubs - over the years we have had players like Gordon Armstrong, Billy Jones and last year George Honeyman. This year it will probably be Gooch. It is no disgrace to suggest this, it is true. I'm not having a go at Sunderland fans at all but am suggesting that this is a pretty common phenomena amongst football fans.
 
Ross said Honeyman was finding it a ‘lot for him to take’ and that he himself was quite ‘surprised’ before describing the situation as a ‘bump along the way’. That hardly sounds like he was endorsing the sale yet Donald said the ‘management’ were aware of things before he was and it was a ‘football decision’.

With this in mind, who exactly is ‘the management’ and who is making the decisions? It sounds fairly disjointed and potentially even chaotic to me. Are both Ross and Donald just trying to cover their backs by not taking responsibility for such decisions or are they being absolutely genuine with their comments and recruitment decisions are predominantly in the hands of Richard Hill and / or Tony Coton?

people keep deflecting it by saying it must be a mag..it isnt..the language used about the owners on here..people calling them spivs chancers, sayi hey arebleeding us dry, potless, etc is just one step behind actual threats...the owners have been defaned a million times (ertain individuals on here evne tried go suggest SD had made up the threats) so its definitely likel its an safc fan moron..the person who threatened him has an safc badge in their profile..
