How good is Bannan and how important is he? You are right that O’Nien shut him out the game, but still the Sky commentator clearly loves him. Just the change in the tone of his voice whenever he said his name. There was one instance where Bannan got the ball about 30 yards out, could not see a way though, and played it back, the ball came back to him quickly where he then looked about and played it square. A nothing sort of move that everyone on the pitch had managed at some point. The commentary was “Ooooh, it’s Bannan on the ball…*very excited* It’s Bannan again…I’ve just cum a bit”.
Sky sports . Been watching Sky sports news for two hours and never featured once the big playoff game yesterday. 44k crowd anall. Bunch of a*sholes at Sky .

First off how we didn't end up on the end of a 3 or 4 nil defeat is beyond me. Thought you was better all over the pitch especially down the wings. Thought Gooch had a great game. I do feel we played in to your hands my just punting the ball aimlessly for majority of the game but then again that was probably down to the high press you put on us. Also need to give a shout out to who I thought was one of your key men and having a look at some of the threads on here got a lot of stick. I thought onein had a great game. He controlled bannan so well and didn't give him a chance to take control of the game as he done on so many occasions this year. Honestly after the game I was happy it was only 1-0. Can't wait for Monday to see if we actually go for it instead of watching the sitting back we did last night. Do feel we play our best football at home especially when we push forward. Was always worried about playing at stadium of light just for the fact the noise you fans create to behonest is unreal at times and honestly think 1 0 overall especially after the game is a great result for us.

Also your managers tactics was spot on to so shout out to him.

Was amazed that none of your players got forward an support the attack when you got into good positions and I said at the time that they had came for a draw. Many teams have shown us too much respect at the sol and sat back instead of attacking us when that happens we can look very vulnerable in defence as I think you'll see on monday.

To not play well and only to be 1-0 down is a good outcome for your lot. We are going to have to be at our best down there to get through.

I think our biggest struggle is when teams shut down not when they attack.

What surprised me is how much time your players allowed us on the ball.

Anytime we've played badly and lost is when teams press us high up and force us into mistakes or force us to go long.

Last night your players let us pick the ball up deep and pass it around with minimal pressure.

I'd be very surprised if you do that on Monday, I'd expect you to come out all guns blazing and press us high up. Do that and you may cause us a few problems.

They did for the first 15 or so but we were moving it so well I think they slowed down cos it was tiring themselves out. Vaguely related point. That Gregory needs larruping from the start. He doesn’t like receiving it.

I can see why their fans weren’t too disappointed at the result on Friday even given how poorly they played.

At home they have the best form in all 92 league clubs and they’ve only failed to score once at home all season. That was against Rotherham back in February in a game they lost 0-2 but by all accounts absolutely battered Rotherham with even Warne saying the best team lost.

We’ve been very effective away since Neil took over - undefeated away from home since he took the job and only conceding two goals away in seven league games.

Somethings got to give on Monday !

I see it the other way, I thought your deep play in the first half stifled us and we couldn't really get the wingers running into space and Pritchard was limited to picking up the ball deeper. In the second we had more space and I thought we would take the game away from you but you took control of the ball and you got yourselves in to the game. We deserved the win but the game is still very much alive.

I'm pretty sure it looked like Moore switched it to a back four at the start of the second half and it did them no favours at all. When he made his subs he went back to the three and that was when they got in the ascendancy. Mind, that coincided with Pritchard and Roberts coming off so that may have been a factor just as much.

A 2-0 win for us may have been a worse thing for us. It totally shifts the mentality of both teams. They go overly offensive and teams have a tendency to try and keep it tight and sit it with a 2-0 lead.

At 1-0 I don’t expect them to go hung ho, the mentality is that they’ve 90 minutes to find a goal and if we score if shifts the whole game. I think AN will set up to keep the ball, back the midfield and deny space in behind.

Interesting who deals with that pressure and keeps their bottle.

I didn't think the pass to Embleton was on for Stewart, the other centre back was coming round on the cover and would have cut it out or blocked any shooting opportunity.

I haven't seen it back mind so I may be wrong.
I thought embleton was the better option....stewart was taking the ball away from the goal!
