We’re in league 1. To the rest of the country we’re irrelevant. They're the same group of newspapers so that makes sense.
It's hard to understand how if he had any genuine inside news on this it would only warrant a 100 word blurb with zero depth or explanation as to how the info was obtained. Weird all round, especially as it is just a regurgitation of something he wrote a month ago.

Direct debits due next week. This kind of story has been given to different sources a few days before payments were due on 5 occasions by my reckoning:
- Just before the February 1 payment last year, a takeover was going to be complete within a few weeks.
- Just before the April 9 deadline for renewals, a takeover was going to happen, but had been delayed a few weeks due to Covid and would be complete by the end of May.
- On 25 July, Nick Barnes was given a story about the takeover, which was to be complete before the end of the season. This was 8 days before the first payment was due when many were planning to cancel because of the uncertainty around Covid.
- On 9 September, when fans were deciding whether to use their season cards to access a stream, or wait and get the refund, Nick Barnes popped up again with another exclusive, that talks had been delayed due to Covid (again), but there was likely to be completion within a few weeks.
- This morning various papers announce that a takeover is close, 6 days before the next payment is due, just as many are considering cancelling because there is no prospect of live football this season.

Would we be happy with a takeover if Donald is still a stakeholder? I mean, what is he offering? He doesn't seem interested at all.
