Havertz

He seemed to start poorly at Chelsea, improved massively and looked like the player they’d been expecting, then his form went downhill (along with the rest of the team) under Lampard. I think he’ll do fine at Arsenal.

Tin hat on but i think hes a good player. Excellent touch and can play in any midfielder or forward positions which is probably his downfall.

Not sure why alot of people seem to think he is shite. Scored the winner in the champions league final not long back. 14 goals in the season before this Chelsea horror season.

13 in 37 for Germany too. Good stats for somebody who isn't really a striker.
It’s about structures and environments. Arteta will think he can fit one or more of their role well. Arsenal have loads of the ball and Havertz is good at keeping it

scored the winning goal in a champions league final
Edér scored the winning goal in a Euros final, as did Angelos Charisteas.

Diego Milito scored both goals in a CL final once, Karl-Heinz Riedle also scored a brace for Dortmund in a 3-1 CL final win. Basile Boli also scored a winning CL final goal, and Dmitri Alenichev, Carlos Alberto (not that one - an obscure ex-Porto player who had pretty much a nothing career) also scored in CL final wins.

Some of those were reasonable players, some of them bang average, none of them great players.

He made more runs into the penalty area than any other PL player last season other than haaland apparently.

Could be handy if he's played in midfield arriving late

Yeah it's exactly that isn't it. You'd imagine he'll be far more effective with Jesus up front drifting deep and to the side and giving him space to exploit.

Think we saw it with our own team more than enough last year that wide players and attacking midfielders are much better when you allow them to play in the role they want rather than up front. Over the course of a season Clarke and Amad would both score and create far more starting from deeper where they actually want to play at than they would if they played up front.
