Hate Leicester chant

Isn’t the AND LEICESTER referred to the motorway sign the NORTH and LEICESTER?

Dunno, we came from the North and never saw that.

Long before that, this was chanted in the 70’s and if I’m correct the “and Leicester” was used to fit the chant and no other reason.

I never really thought about it as being teams we ACTUALLY hated, or it would have been about Newcastle and Leeds! It was just a song we sung.
