Harry Maguire (possible transfer rumour?)

He's a much better player than most fans and the mainstream media would have ypu believe. But wages wise its never going to happen.

I don't buy into this obessesion that's developing with pace at the back. Ballard can run over distance and Maguire has enough about him to not get continually exposed in run of the mill games as part of an organised system. Play high (which we absolutely can't and won't do regularly) and ask him to run and chase in one on one defending regularly and it would be an issue. Under Le Bris I expect us to more compact, organised and deep, though some pace would help.
So we do need pace?

It certainly wouldn't be a bad move. In fact, it would be utterly bloody brilliant for a promoted club. Can't see it happening but then again, I think I've said that about most of our signings this summer.

We could do with a bit of course. But it's not the be-all and end-all people are making it out to be. Strength, aerial ability, defensive experience at the top level are just as important IMO.

If we were a side who were regularly going to go full press as in the first couple of preseason friendlies then I think it would be necessary accross the back four. But we simply haven't got the quality to play like that regularly without getting absolutely tanked. Some more pace for the counter attacks wouldn't go amiss, but there's more to it than just having pace which many have become preoccupied with - most top level centre backs can get by and not many are really slow unless completely isolated.

I’d love him here and a move is exactly what he needs, but there’s more chance of me getting a ride on flippers back of us getting him in any way shape or form.

He has bad attitude, he's one of the influential players in man utds dressing room that are partly responsible for the decline. Players like him prevent new managers from changing the mentality and ethics of a team. O'Shea did the same to us for years.

I really do not know how you know this about McGuire and OShea.
