Forgetting the verdict for a second, do those that blame the ECB for everything (rightly most of the time), think they should discipline him for drinking at least 12/13 drinks a couple of days before a game?
If he isn't found guilty I'd say he's served enough punishment from the ECB for the games he's already missed.

Well yeah I probably agree

But we’re not blaming the ecb for him going out and getting pissed I assume?

See what happens but if I was walking about waving a bottle about/metal pole about outside a nightclub or a pub in an aggressive manner, I'd expect a thump.
If you were a professional cricketer representing your country a few days later I would hope you wouldn’t be out pissed as a fart at that time of the morning

If stokes does get , a sentence of community service, found not guilty

And

The FTECB decide to ban him from England service, does it follow, he would be available for Durham?

It was the Ramside incident almost 6 full days before the Derby game, if that changes anything.
Don't see a problem with a sportsman having a drink 6 days before a match. My issue with Gibson was his drink driving. Can't comment so much now we don't go in but the Durham players used to knock some drink back in Austin's during the season, some more than others, nobody ever used to say anything

Was he driving on the Ramside evening? I thought he was just enjoying a drink in the hotel where he was living.

No, because a fit and healthy adult (which clearly he is as a professional sportsman) can quite easily get over the effects of drink in two days.

The game was 24/9 - the next game was 27/9. In my view, that’s more than enough time to recover.

Nope, this is entirely on Stokes and I'm sure he's been hammered by the coaching team, Strauss and the ECB behind closed doors.

And no, I don't think players should be drinking 6-10 drinks a few days before a match and I'm sure you'll find any number of nutritionists, dietitians and physios who can tell you why not. Regardless of what the Durham players used to do in Austins.
