Gym nuggets

People supersetting various bit of equipment at peak times. If you want to do that then use the gym when its empty. At peak times use one thing at a time. Or even worse somebody putting a hoody over a bit of equipment and then using something for 5 minutes and moaning if you move it. Ive been training years so dont bother me to move somebody elses stuff outa the way if they are being a selfish fucker, but not everybody would do the same.

Did my rack pulls and rows today on the barbell. Deracked, put the plates away and put the bar back on the rack. Big lad went on after me.

Anyway, I come back through after a shoulder set lasting 25-30 mins max, to find the bar resting on the rack (the bit you would do rack pulls from, not sure what it's called), fully loaded with 180kg. Big fella nowhere to be seen.

Luckily I needed 140kg of it, so the derack wasn't as bad, but the point is when you're done, tidy the fuck up so someone else doesn't have to waste their time doing it after you.

Never understood the sheer inconsiderate mentality some people have.

I would spend time at the work gym between sets clearing the weights away, mainly because I couldn't stand looking at it. Been no point in me paying for it recently because the floor needs mending. Wonder which melt broke it tbh...

Had the same issue today. I do flat, incline and decline bench on my chest days. Did the flat, did the decline and went for a piss, came back and some moron had loaded up, obviously realised it was owa heavy and fucked off and left about 120kg on the bar

Tonight I have witnessed a bloke doing bicep curls with dumbbells in the squat rack (I thought that was a myth). Same man then started doing pull-ups and hanging pines in the squat rack, even though we have 2 specialist “captains chair” type stations, an assisted pull-ups station (pad and weights can be removed) and pull up stations at the Synrgy circuit - all of them are nearly always empty, unlike the squat racks!

People like that tend to want all eyes on them. Personally I'd have asked him to shift if he wasn't doing an exercise that requires the rack itself

It was posterior chain tonight so I didn’t actually need the rack (only RDL required a barbell but I prefer the shorter barbell for them).
Just had the wee one in for his swimming lesson. Afterwards in the changing room an old man took off his towel walked over to the hairdryers, picked up 2 of them and proceeded to use them to dry his bollocks! I think I’m scarred for life!

My gym always feels quite inclusive (it is a David Lloyd’s I suppose) but there’s one guy that annoys me. He’s actually probably not a bellend because he does seem quite popular in the gym. His family own the local “famous” ice cream parlour and he walks around with an air of arrogance about him. He’s a stereotypical “always skips a leg day” bodybuilder type and I’ve only ever seen him do bench press, bicep curls, tricep dips or bent over rows (although one night he was doing 70kg deadlifts). He also has a little harem who watch him work out, including the receptionist with the dodgy tache.

Not quite ready to eat humble pie yet, but tonight he asked me if I was finished with the flat bench, and when I said yes he offered to put all my weights away for me. Maybe he’s not so bad after all.

Walking on a treadmill is understandable if they're overweight and physically can't run. The gym environment can be motivational, I know it was for me. I get what ya mean though, some people are just bone idle and take the piss.

No you’re totally correct with that bud. Got a bike in the house these days so no more getting annoyed at daft gym situations haha

people paying on their phones/social media in the gym and hogging the equipment

people not putting the weights back on the racks, just leaving them on the floor

people wearing hoodys with the hood up in the gym

all of the above are almost always done by lads under age of 30 , the Love Island wannabees ... absolute knobs

People who take the weights off the bars and machines and rack them away.
Annoys the fuck out of me coz i have to get them all back out and load the bars up again.....coz am massive.

Two things that used to grind my gears were (mainly) women reading magazines while ambling on the treadmills and those with a cloud of perfume round them choking everyone else in the gym.

Not much really pisses me off apart from the people mentioned who will put their bag / coat on or near a piece of equipment and then go chat to someone doing something else - but rush back over to say they're on the kit if you go on it.

There's a bloke at Puregym who does it all of the time. You know who you are !!!
