He really isn't what we need, although he would add some experience to our midfield.

I don't see why Boro need to replace him first. They have quite a few midfield players who play a similar position. If anything they could with someone who can chip in with a few goals. Also I doubt we would pay him anywhere near what Boro are, so it would probably cost them to get rid.

Think we need more of an attacking midfielder than Leadbitter, he doesn't really offer anything different to what we have and would be another one on the bench when Honeyman (a huge miss) is back.

My hope was that we would build a side, not only to get promoted at the first attempt, but one that would be able to consolidate in the Championship next season. I don't think we have this, or that Leadbitter helps it either. I hoped the days of massive rebuilds season after season were behind us, but I'm not sure they are.

Local lad. He will definitely give 100% as you say.
Hopefully he has enough in the tank to add a bit of quality and graft to the team.
Fits in nicely with our policy of only signing short players.

He has played his whole career either in the PL or team's at the top of the championship. Yes he is getting on a bit and is a short term solution but he will be head and shoulders above players in this division.
