Gooch is awful

Miles better than when he’s on the right! He can’t seem to beat the man on the right hand side.

his best attacking output came in the Parky / No Geads era when he had the left hand side to himself.
He was still effective on the right pre-injury this season. Created loads. However he definitely looks more dangerous on the left. I think it’s probably something to do with his work on his weaker foot being done at pace. If he goes outside he’s trying to whip it in quickly. If he comes inside he’s got time on his stronger foot. When he’s on the right he’s relying on his weaker foot for that greater goal threat - which probably allows defenders to face him up in a way that limits him more.

For a player who has played for us in the premiership, he really doesn’t do enough. Shows glimpses of decency but when he gets the ball, Certainly don’t believe he can take a man on. He should be able to take games by the scruff of the neck and win them but you just don’t see it

End product ? He literally created the last goal yesterday haha. Honest man some of the pap on here is crazy and people fully believe there own pap. His goal return this season has been poor I just read, the lads played left back for crying out loud.
He’s on the pitch to create chances. He doesn’t create enough. The amount of good positions we get in when he has the ball that wastes have been numerous and regular.

He’s generally been poor this season. It’s startling how short some fans’ memories are.

Nah he's created plenty. Unless there's stats to back this up. Only 12 players have more assists this year.

He had a few bad games when the whole team was struggling and people decided to make him a "boo boy". He's never been as bad as people made out.

His confidence to take players on and not be scared of it not working every time is his strong point.

As is his energy, f***ing unreal when you actually watch him close up.

He has indifferent form every season and he's had a very poor patch this after injury. He was actually decent at the start of the season despite the moans and it was backed up factually by chances created, yet there were still moans about him and people claiming it was rubbish.

If he was playing for another team at this level Many would want him here. The fact he's been here donkeys years and we know his weaknesses means he never ever gets the credit he deserves when he deserves it.

Keep it going lads

Over the last two or three years it often been him getting us into those positons more frequently than anyone else barring maybe McGeady though.

It's startling how quickly fans forgot - we were rubbish mostly without him over the last Two seasons.

I have often had a go at the lad, who could be brilliant one game and bloody awful for the next five. Credit were it is due though, the lad has been very consistent since the Sheffield defeat, (even when ask to play full or wing back) and has added a final ball to his game (still whines when he gets upended though).

You need a couple of wide, direct players who have a bit of pace or skill and can produce something even when not playing well. You also need them to have stamina and be hardworking.

Gooch and Dajaku provide this option for us. They're not technically brilliant but we'd be much more one dimensional without having them as options.

Did you miss the game yesterday? Gooch took on the defender and laid on a great ball for Pritchard to score.

He can be frustrating and has his weaknesses, but that’s no different to every other player in our squad or, I suspect, the division.
He’s obviously a favourite of the manager, his versatility has proved invaluable, and seems to be well-supported by the majority of match-attending fans if not on here

And created the first two against Morecambe
