Gigs back at sol

Each to their own mate ive seen them live before & each time theyve blown me away, i got a lucky dip ticket for edinburgh for £30 so all`s well in my world
I love the Rolling Stones, but saw them in 2013 and they were dreadful.
I’m not convinced they play live - far far too old.
£30 is good mind - about £48 on groupon now

I went to see Rihanna and David Guetta a few years back, went mainly for David Guetta and because it was my birthday (17th I think).

Entire place was rammed and it must have done wonders for the local bars etc.

For me, a few I’d love to see there are

1) Arctic Monkeys
2) Stone Roses (seen them live before, Ian browns voice has gone but what a f***ing atmosphere it is)
3) Courteeners, although a stadium tour is probably a bit above them at the minute.

Bruce and Bon Jovi were highlights for me.

I got dragged to One Direction mind so the Boss and JBJ didnt have much competition.

I think one of the best posts I have seen on here was after the decision to stop the concerts was made and we had the opportunity to get the Rolling Stones and at the same time a protest banner was being discussed. Someone said 'Fcuk the Pitch Get the Stones'. Class :)

That was a horrendous night. Full of birds that wanted to scrap and lads that belonged in Geordie Shore. Plus the organisation was horrendous, as was the security. An abject failure.

I have it on authority that the concerts did net a profit but it was a ridiculously small profit given the names we attracted, and demonstrative of what a shit job Hutchison did that the profit, such as it was, was so small.

I’ve never claimed to be ITK on anything when it comes to SAFC but this is from a cast iron unimpeachable source. The pitiful net gain was entirely down to GH botching the whole thing.

Same source said the night before the league cup final GH was in London with all the top dogs out on the lash. He insisted on going to the casino and got bladdered and left his jacket in there ... with everyone’s tickets for the match. Had to go knocking on the door of the casino early the next morning and luckily found a cleaner who let them in to retrieve jacket and tickets. The useless gonk.
I find it hard to believe he was carrying everyone’s tickets around with him when he was on the piss mind

I´ve never heard about a club not making a profit on concerts.. Basically they just rent out the stadium and provide some services in return for either a fixed price or a percentage of the gross

Stones are shite live.
Struggling to sell tickets too - you can buy them on groupon with discounts
Can’t give them away this time around.

Night before the LC Final ES hired out his local in South Kensington for the top dogs and various safc guests......

You need a different team to oversee concerts. Big gigs need experts in that area. I just don't think SAFC ever had that kind of savvy team in place. It's not London and the music business is brutal. Hiring a PA and sound-man needs to be done by people in the industry.

He probably out-sourced the whole operation as SAFC had zero experience setting up such an event. That plus the skimming resulted in SAFC making tens of thousands instead of hundreds.

Now there's an interesting comment...!! :-O
