Getting the best out of Brobbey.

We need someone who can play off him really. Le Fee is good as a forward thinking central midfield but he's not really a number 10 so doesn't play off Brobbey well enough.

If we could get someone in that role then the goals would come for both them and Brobbey. Not easy to find that sort of player these days.

He's done well given the few genuine chances he gets. We've massivelly fallen of the cliff defensively recently. We need to go back to what we were doing the first 10/50 games at the start of the season.

I suspect it was novel and teams have worked it out.

then theres nowt to lose then really
I'd agree, said earlier that the best way to get a runner off Brobbey is probably by switching to a back three. Pointless playing 442 if your wingers are Le Fee and Rigg.

Roefs
Mukiele Ballard Alderete
Hume Sadiki Xhaka Reinildo
Le Fee
Brobbey Isidor/Mayenda

Something like that.

I made a suggestion on here a few days ago that met with, shall we say, a mixed reaction but if you ignore who the actual player is and the club he plays for Yoane Wissa who is essentially a striker playing wide right is exactly the type we’re looking for. It allows you to play your favoured 433 but still allow 442 or even a 532 during the game.

I’d go with maybe that v wolves, think we may have more joy playing that with some support for brobbey compared to little support he normally has

We've been mullered down the wings in the past two games though from the wide players not tracking back. Not only would they not be tracking back, we wouldn't have anyone there at all and the opposition winger and full back would double up on Mukiele/Reinildo. The 'nothing to lose' mentality saw us concede 9 in our last two games.

Wouldn't be against a back 3 though. Cant really see it happening long term though, we've invested too much in Talbi, Angulo and Ta Bi.

Hold up play is really good, he holds the ball and battles etc creating space for others, he's scored a few fantastic goals but he's unselfish and doesn't appear to be a natural striker desperare to score goals. A goalscoring wide or central player would maybe be ideal around him.

Hopefully Diarra develops into offering more of a threat but he's currently almost there as a runner at the moment and the attacking side of his game hasn't been seen often enough, a bit like what happened to Rigg the second half of last season.

He’s not the answer in my opinion, yes he’s great at holding it up etc but he has 6 goals all season.
Mental to say that.
For a team that creates only a few chances and remembering that he only played 1600 minutes which is roughly 18 full games and that he battles on his own most of the time actually winning a ton of balls against some of the hardest CB's in the world and laying it to other advancing midfielders is fantastic.
He's the least of out problems, the problems are related to our all time record transfer who can't shoot or put a decent pass forward and the wingers who aren't doing enough (not necessarily their fault as they are too young, still inconsistent).

At present we have only one very inconsistent winger fit...
Talbi? He's probably lacking a run of games (hes scored a few by the way, with very little game time. We're shoehorning players into positions they're no good in man. Rigg has done ok - ish, but LeFee is totally lost on the left. Stick him at 10 and put Diarra (which LeBris says he won't do, for some reason, even though he often plays there for Senegal) on the right. Talbi should be playing every game for me on the left. My opinion but I think we've massively underused Talbi, in favour of fielding a sterile attack and isolating Brobbey game after game. Nee wonder hes only scored 6 goals.

Talbi has got a goal in him but his overall performances aren't great. He has had runs of games earlier in the season and hasn't been able to nail down a spot due to being so inconsistent. He barely gets a chance for Morocco either so they don't think he's ready for a regular start either. He's young, hopefully the consistency he needs will come.

Put a couple of big defenders on him, like Villa and Forest did, and he’s ineffective.
We have very limited attacking options other than him.

That can be effective in itself. 2 defenders on him should create space for another attack to take advantage of the space he frees up

Problem is, like you say... we dont have attackers to take advantage

mayenda left and Wilson right of him let’s just have a go both have played on the wing in there career and centrally . We need to stop playing central midfielders on the wing.

Having a go is what cost us Friday … wide open as a barn door
LeFee has to be the 10 moving forward so hopefully Angulo or someone fit soon.

If Le Fee does not get a run out at 10 this is all about protecting the expensive asset in Diarra.

Geertruida instead of Hume.

Suggestions on here of playing Wilson and Mayenda out wide. Neither have the skill set to play wide while providing defensive cover for their full back. To get the best out of Brobbey without exposing your flanks you need wingers in the mould of Jarrod Bowen….scores, assists, huge work ethic and fully engages in his defensive responsibilities.
