Getting bit anxious over defense. Haway Florent

Right on both counts, big experienced lad up front and at the back urgently needed
No more wingers or midfielders
Who’s this big experienced lad that’ll be better than we have?. It was easier to say that in the championship but we’re in the premier league now. You’re looking at 30-40 million on gambles. Look at the mags a bloke I’ve not heard of and whose record isn’t exactly fire they want €75m plus. Striker is hardest to get through the door and the most costly. We’ve been looking at centre back all window too it’s pretty clear we have our first choice targets and ain’t willing to pay over the odds.

The window we’ve had so far and yet the panic is setting in 🤣

I am willing to bet we do NOT end the window without new CBs a full back or two a winger and another striker.
The end of the window isn't the target - the start of the season is.

We've been given such a gentle start in Premier League terms that we simply cannot afford to let it pass by - come out of those games with only 1 or 2 points and we'll be in an incredibly difficult situation with much harder games to come.

We probably need a "here we go" today, tomorrow at a push, for any new signing to play a part in preseason and after that it's a race to have them available for the first game even without any opportunity to bed in.

Did you watch Xhaka on Saturday?

He’d been here what? 3 days?

That’s what quality players do. We’re not signing babies who’ve not played before or league one plodders. This bedding in lark isn’t AS desperate.

I read some article the other day, that apparently it's the Scandinavian countries and their youth and coaching style that are more likely to produce the more traditional CF. Other countries now produce midfielders or false 9s (whatever they are).
The ability to put the ball in the back of the net... not sure since Harry Kane, has the UK found another talent like him.

Of course I have worries about the new season and how we are going to score enough goals to stay up. We surely are not looking to play 'rope-a-dope' for 30 odd games.

Unless Romano fires a Here We Go then forget all the other shite you read. Maybe squeezing out a deal is tough if clubs don't have replacements. Might need patience.

A defender for sure but a proven goal scorer also looks critical. There really aren’t many goals in the current squad and that needs to change for us to have a realistic chance.
I don’t think we will get a proven goalscorer simply because they cost a hell of a lot of money. How many teams in the Premier League have a “proven” goalscorer really? I’d be very surprised if more than half have.

We need two centre backs as a priority.

Absolute worst case scenario we can still line up vs West Ham like this;

Hume Ballard Seelt Reinildo

Seelt being the biggest question mark, but I think he's looked good in pre-season. O'nien back soon and also Alese at some point. If we can get one top CB in before West Ham, I'd feel much more comfortable.

Alese?
Will be like a new singeing.
Again....... again......again........

You obviously didn’t watch the Hull game. Seelt is nowhere near ready to start a PL game. He’s barely started a handful of competitive Championship games at centre back.
Worse, if Ballsrd picks up a knock, who then….Joe Anderson who couldn’t get a game for Shrewsbury or Zak Johnson, with 10 games under his belt at League 2 Notts County last season?

This. If you can't score goals, you can't win games.

Goals have been hard to come by for us in pre season when the pressure's off.

I think the Chelsea lad will be only striker coming in especially when we are paying all of his wages. Bringing in a recognised CB is the clubs priority especially with the injuries we have at the back...
