We’re not going to sign one.

We are going to rely on the 19 year old Chelsea lad primarily, Isidor and Mayenda. We will try and get another wide forward in who can play centrally at a push, like Lauriente. Thst will be our four. This strategy is hiding in plain sight.

We are however, yet to land our centre backs and I agree with the OP. It was the position group that needed most attention and it’s had the least success.

@Football Dinosaur is prone, nursing a chubby, tickling his own balls in anticipation at the thought of all the times he is going to get to whinge about us not signing a striker again when the transfer window closes.

Agreed on the striker point. The club obviously see a lot of potential in Mayenda (so do most fans, I imagine) and Isidor only signed last year and clearly has a bit about him. I assume they'll want to make sure Mayenda, in particular, gets minutes and he'll be competing with the Chelsea lad. We've not signed an "experienced" striker for money under this regime, and I don't have imagine we'll start now.

The club have been doing good business this summer. I'm sure they're well aware of the need to bring in at least one CB, and I imagine they'll bring one in before the first game of the season. Wouldn't surprise me if it's someone out of left field.

We need two more centre backs just to make up the numbers to get through the season ..Decent quality would be nice though!

Your right the early business is a new phenomenon for us as were used to starting in the last few days of the window in the bargain basement bin!
