Let's consider some possible attributes of a holding midfielder for example -
Physical strength/determination/good in the air/pace/fitness/stamina, crunching tackles and so on....
Okay, let's not and just think about the wee jock again.
When McGeouch played it was noticeable that he would make himself available to the defenders to pass to him and not punt it aimlessly upfield. I can't remember any of our other midfield doing this when McGeouch didn't play.
A small thing?...maybe, but at least it kept the ball on the ground (where we play at our best) and not up in the air to come straight back.
He's a good little player, I don't see why you've got so much beef with the lad.
