Genuinely scary horror movies

The “science” is Jurassic Park is absolute fantasy you lunatic. Ghosts are actually more plausible.

Piffle. The idea is plausible until the bit about finding actual dino DNA. If someone were to find some dino DNA then cloning a dinosaur would be possible.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility they could create something resembling a dinosaur now just by f***ing around with DNA even without having a starting point in a block of amber.

Not true though is it? If you had complete manipulation over DNA you could create a dinosaur from scratch. How could you create a ghost?

Exactly.

The Wailing. While not terrifying, there are a few shamanic scenes which are strangely disturbing owing to their franticness. Decent story, Korean.

The trouble with being a sceptic/atheist is that supernatural horrors just aren't scary because all the time you're watching it you're thinking "well this is just bollocks, ghosts don't exist".

Just been watching The Conjuring with the missus (even with the lights turned off to try to increase the spookiness) and the whole time the pair of us were just completely unmoved by it.

Can you recommend something that is actually scary?

Personally, Jurassic Park scared the crap out of me because it was something that could actually happen. (Science bitch!)

Not into torture porn like Saw and that sort of bollocks.

Not bothered about cheap shocks with loud noses and things jumping out at you unexpectedly.

Looking for something that creeps you out or makes you actually scared.

Answers?
The only film that actually creeped me out properly was Wolf Creek

Event Horizon is pretty dark, like

 I went to see that with my mum by mistake. We'd just moved to california and had been looking for a good us film and misread it. Thought it was hillarious. The bit where they get the ships log working and that bloke pulls his eyes out. I leant over and whispered 'how did they know where to point them?'
