I do get annoyed with the amount of films that are made from the perspective of a person carrying a camcorder to make it seem more 'believable'. But there's been a few that are quite good. Blair Witch, as mentioned above and perhaps the first Paranormal Activity movie. I saw a film the other night called Alien Abduction and it was really very good. A kid carrying a camcorder filming his whole family being abducted by aliens, one by one. It was very well done and worth a watch. It's free on Amazon, I think. And depending on your take on horror movie subjects, you might find the alien abduction thing more believable than ghosts and demons.
I think The Shining has been remade in recent times and is much closer to the book. But it doesn't have Jack Nicholson in it, unfortunately. I have seen it but it didn't make as much impression as the original film or the book.I've never read the book, I've only seen the film, I might give it a read over the summer hols now..
That's what I got from the book - he had it more than his son and that's what sent him mad.Jack Torrance also had The Shining, man. Read it again.
