Geertruida

I disagree. Imo, he been talking to them without our knowledge til we decided not to play him. Le Bris wouldn't talk about Geertruida in press conference on Friday, so obviously not happy with him.
Bang on. Was very weird that he didn't mention him despite being asked. He knew he was off and likely pushed for it.I'm philosophical about it coz he knows Slot and he needs to be in the spotlight for the World Cup squad. Jus really hope we have a deal to be done or we will look piss weak in midfield.

I wonder which PL ready player Chelsea and Liverpool have been keeping secret that they'd rather send to Sunderland than play themselves.

I'm still laughing at the posters who think Chelsea and Liverpool are gonna give us proper class players to the detriment of their own seasons cos we give one of of their own players back
I think you may have misinterpreted. If Sunderland were to go in for a future player at Leipzig or Liverpool it's a whole lot better to have a good rapport at the negotiation table than not.

Slightly worrying this imo, we need someone else in now who can cover CB and CM - altho RLB didn’t seem to rate him in midfield.

It’s fine that we want to sign a replacement but what position does the replacement play? CB, RB, DFM?

Same mate. I'm not as bothered as others. He's a good player but certainly not a starter or irreplacable.

Honestly, let him leave. It seems as if he’s the type to turn a mood if he’s not getting what he wants, hence the zero minutes. He’s gotten an offer to move to Liverpool, under a manager he was a former captain under. End of the season he’ll be sacked and he’ll likely be out of favour. Reap what you sow.

In the past couple of years alone we've repeatedly played players who are talking to other clubs, on the verge of a move and are out of contract in the near future  why are people just ignoring that to come up with daft theories?

Le Bris didn't play him against West Ham because he didn't want to.

I’d worry about Sadiki sitting but it could definitely work. Guess I was talking about the idea of direct replacement in that hybrid role. We don’t play 4-3-3 when we use it. Or at least when it works. It’s always been 4-4-2 variants. Think that’s part of why last week failed so badly. Reg was overthinking and asking Hume to be the sole moving part in some sort of 5-4-1/4-4-2/4-3-3 monstrosity. Unsurprising it broke down so badly.
Hope to god Hume isn't playing in there tomorrow.

He’s cost us several goals this season, clearly a weak link for where we want to be. If that gets on your wick I couldn’t give a rats arse
Roefs and Mukiele have cost us goals this season. Some absolute howlers aswell. Are they weak links for 'where we want to be'?

..because it is my opinion. This is what this place is for. Do you know otherwise?
But why? There’s nothing to suggest it

We know RLB doesn’t talk much about tactics and options in interviews

We know players agree terms with clubs before clubs agree terms

Why are you then thinking there’s something amiss and underhand? There’s nothing to suggest it

Could this be like the recent Tammy Abraham deal? We take up our option to buy him now for £20m and then sell him to Liverpool for £25m.
How would that work with playing for multiple teams in one season? Genuine question as I don't know how the rules differ with loanees compared to purchased players.
